Where Care Meets Recovery at Pahrump Spine and Wellness

For many residents of the Pahrump Valley, relief from chronic pain, improved mobility, and a renewed sense of confidence have come through the doors of Pahrump Spine and Wellness. Patient reviews consistently describe the practice as welcoming, thorough, and unlike any other chiropractic or rehabilitation experience they have had before. Behind that reputation is owner Dr. Creig Christensen, whose decades-long career has culminated in a practice designed specifically to meet the needs of this community.

    Dr. Christensen

Dr. Christensen began his chiropractic career in the early 1980s after graduating from Pasadena College of Chiropractic. He trained under a chiropractor who had been licensed since 1928, an experience that grounded him in both the philosophy and science of chiropractic care. From the start, Christensen learned to view the body as an integrated system, with the nervous system serving as the master control center. When communication along that system is disrupted, the body compensates, often leading to pain, dysfunction, and long-term health issues. His approach has always focused on restoring that communication so the body can function as it was designed.

Practicing in Southern California placed Christensen at the center of elite athletics, where he worked extensively with professional and high-level amateur athletes. He treated NFL and Major League Baseball players, collaborated with team physicians, and became known for his ability to bridge chiropractic care with functional and post-surgical rehabilitation. In 1985, while working with injured professional athletes, Christensen recognized the limitations of traditional rehabilitation methods and developed what became known as the Fast Twitch program. Using high-speed isokinetic training, he found a way to rehabilitate joints with minimal pain while dramatically improving neuromuscular performance. The results were significant, with athletes seeing measurable gains in speed, strength, and overall performance.

That work eventually expanded into a national operation, with multiple facilities across the country and partnerships with professional sports organizations, including teams in the NFL, NBA, and professional hockey. Christensen also played a role in developing and manufacturing specialized rehabilitation equipment, much of which remains central to the work now being done in Pahrump.

After decades in a high-intensity healthcare environment and increasing frustration with insurance-driven limitations, Christensen retired in 2005. In 2010, he relocated to Pahrump, initially planning a quieter chapter of life. That plan changed when he began practicing locally alongside Dr. Taylor, a chiropractor Christensen describes as highly skilled and well respected in the community. Working with Dr. Taylor allowed him to re-enter patient care while adapting his advanced rehabilitation background to the specific needs of Pahrump’s population. During that period, Christensen introduced much of the fast-twitch and isokinetic technology he had developed over decades, laying the groundwork for what would later become Pahrump Spine and Wellness.

Pahrump Spine and Wellness officially opened in its current form in 2014, with a clear mission: to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care focused on long-term function rather than temporary relief. Today, Pahrump Spine and Wellness operates out of its comprehensive facility at 2780 Homestead Road, where patients receive care that blends advanced rehabilitation, chiropractic correction, and personalized support under one roof.

Walking into Pahrump Spine and Wellness, patients immediately notice that this is not a typical chiropractic office. The entire downstairs of the building is dedicated to patient care, with clearly defined areas designed to support every phase of recovery. The rehabilitation space features advanced isokinetic equipment used for strength, balance, and reflex training, alongside guided exercise stations tailored to each patient’s abilities. Massage chairs, traction, heat and electrical stimulation therapy, and laser treatment areas help reduce pain and inflammation while supporting the body’s healing process. Chiropractic adjustment and an in-house X-ray suite allow evaluation and treatment to happen seamlessly, while the Stretch area provides a dedicated space where patients work one-on-one with staff to learn proper stretching techniques that improve mobility and help maintain long-term progress.

Rather than slowing older patients down, the clinic safely trains them at the speeds they actually move through space, retraining the nervous system and muscles to respond appropriately to everyday demands such as walking, turning, or catching themselves before a fall. This approach has proven especially impactful in a community where nearly half the population falls into the Medicare and geriatric category. Falls, loss of balance, and declining reflexes are among the most serious risks facing older adults, and Pahrump Spine and Wellness addresses those challenges directly through controlled, high-speed neuromuscular training.

Central to the clinic’s care model is Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP), an evidence-based approach that analyzes spinal alignment one vertebra at a time. Using posture photographs and X-rays, the team identifies where the spine has shifted away from its optimal position. Patients are then placed on individualized programs that include targeted traction, stretching, bracing, and strengthening—much like orthodontic braces gradually reposition teeth. Over time, as alignment improves, many patients require fewer adjustments and experience lasting improvements in posture, mobility, and comfort.

Pahrump Spine and Wellness treats patients across the full age spectrum, from newborns to individuals in their late 90s. Expectant mothers receive care to help prepare the pelvis and spine for delivery, while postnatal rehabilitation focuses on restoring strength and stability after pregnancy. Babies and children are gently evaluated and adjusted when appropriate, and athletes of all ages receive care designed to support performance and injury recovery.

The practice also treats a significant number of personal injury, work-related injury, and trauma cases. Christensen emphasizes that spinal injuries—particularly those caused by car accidents—are often underestimated. Even low-speed collisions can generate tremendous force through the spine, damaging joints, ligaments, and discs. Without proper rehabilitation, those injuries frequently lead to chronic pain and degenerative changes years later. Education is a key component of care, helping patients understand both the seriousness of spinal trauma and the importance of completing treatment.

Supporting the clinical work is a large, experienced team that includes multiple chiropractors, a medical doctor specializing in pain management, a nurse practitioner, rehabilitation specialists, and trained technicians. Many staff members have been with the practice for years, creating continuity and trust that patients frequently mention in reviews. Team members are cross-trained, ensuring patients move smoothly from evaluation to treatment to rehabilitation.

Beyond the physical care provided, Pahrump Spine and Wellness places strong emphasis on the emotional and psychological aspects of healing. Christensen believes hope is essential to recovery and is deeply committed to ensuring every patient feels heard, valued, and supported. Veterans hold a special place in the practice, with Christensen frequently providing care regardless of insurance limitations. He views confidence, morale, and a sense of community as integral parts of healing, often as important as the treatment itself.

Patients regularly share stories of small but life-changing milestones—tying shoes for the first time in years, walking without fear of falling, driving longer distances, returning to gardening, or simply moving without pain. These moments, Christensen says, represent the true success of the work being done.

For Dr. Creig Christensen, Pahrump Spine and Wellness is more than a business. It is the result of a lifetime of experience, faith, and dedication brought together in service of the Pahrump community. Through advanced rehabilitation, evidence-based chiropractic care, and a culture built on compassion, Pahrump Spine and Wellness continues to help residents restore motion, reclaim independence, and improve quality of life at every stage.
