The Pahrump Valley Jr. High/High School Rodeo Club is getting ready to bring rodeo action home with a full weekend of competition scheduled for February 6–8, 2026. The hometown rodeo will showcase the dedication and hard work of local youth riders ranging from 5th grade through 12th grade, competing across a wide mix of events.
The weekend opens early on Friday, Feb. 6, with a shooting tournament at 7 a.m. at Murphy’s Pit (1871 E. Mesquite Road). Later that day, attention shifts to high school cutting, which begins at noon at McCullough Arena (150 N. Highway 160), with the girls competing first.
Competition continues Saturday, Feb. 7, at 9 a.m. and Sunday, Feb. 8, at 8 a.m., with both days opening in traditional rodeo fashion with the national anthem, flags, and prayer. Throughout the weekend, spectators can expect a variety of events, including shooting sports, timed events, and rough stock, offering something for every rodeo fan.
Admission to the rodeo is free, though donations will be accepted throughout the weekend to help support the club and its athletes. The Rodeo Club is also actively seeking local business sponsors, big or small, to help make the event—and the season—a success.
Club organizers say community support plays a vital role, noting that seeing young competitors put their training into action is one of the most rewarding parts of hosting the hometown rodeo. For locals, the February weekend offers a chance to cheer on area youth, celebrate rodeo traditions, and support the next generation of competitors right here in Pahrump.
