The Pahrump Valley High School JV boys’ basketball team delivered a well-rounded effort on Wednesday, January 28, rolling to a decisive 56–4 victory over the Cristo Rey Royals in front of the home crowd.
From the opening minutes, the Trojans established control on both ends of the floor. By the 4:00 mark of the first quarter, Pahrump Valley had jumped out to a 13–0 lead, fueled by active defense and quick transition offense. Kobe Farmer sparked the early run with a steal that led to a made basket while being fouled, extending the lead to 15–0.
The Trojans continued to pressure defensively, with Logan Tilley forcing a jump ball at the 2:13 mark to keep possession on Pahrump’s side. Late in the quarter, Hunter Wydick found Daniel Thompson for a basket with 45 seconds remaining, pushing the advantage to 17–0. Pahrump Valley maintained its momentum into the break, holding Cristo Rey scoreless through the opening frame.

The second quarter followed the same script. Camryn Larsen opened the scoring with a steal and layup, and Corbin Larsen knocked down a three-pointer from the corner to make it 22–0. Derek Nguyea added a three from the right corner at the 3:30 mark, then finished through pressure on a layup to extend the lead to 27–0. Corbin Larsen was fouled on a three-point attempt late in the quarter, converting one free throw to cap the first half with Pahrump Valley ahead 28–0.
Cristo Rey found the scoreboard briefly in the third quarter, but the Trojans answered immediately. Renz Quisora connected from the left wing, followed shortly by another three from the right corner to stretch the margin to 33–2. Aidan Patzkowsky buried a three from the right corner at the 5:00 mark, and Pahrump continued to build its lead with steady execution. Nguyea split a pair of free throws after drawing contact, and Camryn Larsen closed the quarter strong with a driving basket and a put-back in the final seconds, sending the Trojans into the fourth quarter ahead 44–2.

The Trojans showed no signs of slowing in the final period. Camryn Larsen opened the quarter with another steal and layup, and after Cristo Rey scored, Nguyea was fouled on a three-point attempt and calmly converted all three free throws. Manny Dupart added an energetic floater while being fouled at the 3:15 mark, drawing a loud response from the bench as he completed the play to make it 51–4.
Camryn Larsen continued to be a defensive catalyst late, recording another steal and score with 1:45 remaining. Quisora added his second three of the night from the left wing before the Trojans closed out the game at the free-throw line to secure the 56–4 win.
