The Nye County School District (NCSD) is excited to announce the launch of “Rooms,” a new communication platform designed to streamline communication between parents, guardians, students, and teachers. This innovative tool, integrated within the NCSD App, will be available across all schools and grade levels by the start of the 2025-2026 school year, with a few schools beginning use this month.

Rooms offers parents and guardians a centralized hub for real-time communication with teachers, keeping them informed about important school updates and their child’s progress. The platform includes features such as direct messaging with teachers, class-specific announcements, and access to school-related news and events, all in one convenient location. This ensures that families can stay connected to their child’s education, regardless of the school they attend.

“We are excited to introduce Rooms to our district,” said Robert Williams, NCSD Communications Officer. “This platform will improve how we connect with families, providing them with real-time access to information and direct communication with teachers at all grade levels. We believe Rooms will foster stronger partnerships between home and school, ultimately benefiting our students’ success.”

    Key Features of Rooms:

    • Direct messaging: Parents and guardians can communicate privately with teachers and receive timely responses.
    • Class announcements: Stay up-to-date on homework, assignments, and important reminders.
    • Centralized information: Find all school news, events, and classroom information for multiple students within the same app.

    Rollout Plan

The Rooms platform will be rolled out in phases, starting with Pahrump Valley High School and select users in Beatty and Tonopah. Key dates for the initial launch include:

    • October 2, 2024: The Rooms Support page goes live on the NCSD website to answer questions. (https://www.nye.k12.nv.us/page/rooms-support)
    • October 7, 2024: The Rooms toggle button becomes available in the NCSD App, and users can access it via the web at https://edurooms.com/.
    • October 8, 2024: PVHS, Beatty, and select Tonopah parents will receive an email and text notification from Infinite Campus about Rooms and their upcoming access code invitation.
    • October 9, 2024: Parents and guardians will receive an invitation via email and text with access codes to join Rooms.

The district is planning to expand Rooms to all schools across Nye County in the coming months, ensuring that every family will have access to this powerful communication tool.

    How to Access Rooms:

    1. Download the NCSD app and enable notifications.
    2. Look for an email from accounts@edurooms.com or a text from 20819 to gain access.
    3. Once the invitation is processed, click the “Rooms” icon within the NCSD app to view class announcements and message teachers directly.

The Nye County School District remains committed to providing a quality education for every student, every day. By introducing Rooms, NCSD is enhancing its efforts to foster stronger school-home connections, ensuring that parents and guardians stay informed and engaged in their child’s education.

Parents are encouraged to download the NCSD app and join Rooms to take advantage of this exciting new platform.
