The Juvenile Probation Office (JPO) of Nye County has officially relocated to a new home inside the Pathways/Adult Education building, located at 2765 S. Mt. The Pahrump Valley High School Trojans track and field team made the trip to Las Vegas on Thursday, March 27, to compete in the Durango High School mid-week meet alongside Amplus Academy, Western High School, and host team Durango. Coming off a dominant 15-0 win against Del Sol on Saturday, March 29, the Pahrump Valley High School Trojans carried their momentum into Monday’s home game against The Meadows. In the shutout against Del Sol, the Trojans scored seven runs in the first inning and eight more in the second to end the game in just three innings. Forty-two excited students from Rosemary Clarke Middle School recently returned from an unforgettable adventure at the Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI), where hands-on science and outdoor exploration came together for an immersive educational experience. Now in its 8th year, the trip is organized by 8th grade science teacher Mr. Ben Veloz and remains one of the school’s most anticipated annual traditions. Nye County School District is inviting families with young children to its upcoming Kindergarten and Pre-K Round Up, taking place on Friday, May 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Charleston Elementary School, located at 1521 Idaho Street in Pahrump. The event is open to all parents planning to enroll their child in kindergarten for the 2025–2026 school year. The Pahrump Valley High School Trojans put on a dominant performance at home on April 1, shutting out the Sunrise Mountain Miners with a decisive 7-0 victory. With Vinny Whitney on the mound, the Trojans came out strong, setting the tone early. The top of the first inning was a quick one as the Trojans went three up, three down. On Saturday, March 29, the Nye County Sheriff’s Office welcomed its newest deputies during a meaningful and emotional graduation ceremony for Detention Academy Class 01-P-2025. Friends, family, and department personnel gathered to honor the accomplishments of Joseph Burrell, Scott Matthews, and Joshua Park as they officially joined the ranks of the agency.
