Pahrump Youth Sports is gearing up for an exciting Fall 2025 season and is now accepting registrations for two of its most popular programs—tackle football and cheerleading. This season, students in grades 2 through 7 can sign up for tackle football, with a registration fee of $130 plus uniform costs. Cheerleading is available for youth ages 6 to 14 at a registration cost of $70, also with additional uniform expenses. For Dane Clayton, high school has been a time of growth, grit, and memorable traditions. Among his favorite memories are the team Christmas practices—moments when the holiday spirit brought his teammates together through gift exchanges and shared celebration. “The whole team does a gift exchange and enjoys the holiday together,” Dane recalled. “It’s something I’ll never forget.” A dedicated student-athlete, Dane has spent his high school years on the football field and wrestling mat. The Pahrump Valley High School baseball team secured an exciting 4-3 win over the Mater East Academy Knights in a home game on March 12. The Trojans showcased strong defensive plays, aggressive base running, and key at-bats to claim victory in front of their home crowd. The Knights started off at the plate and managed to get four players on base, including three singles. However, the Trojans’ defense held strong, preventing any runs. The annual Pahrump Chili Cook-Off and Festival is set to return this weekend, March 21-23, 2025, promising a weekend packed with delicious chili, live entertainment, exciting competitions, and family-friendly activities. Since its inception 13 years ago, the festival has grown into a highly anticipated community event, bringing together locals and visitors for a celebration of food and philanthropy. The Pahrump Valley High School track and field team delivered an outstanding performance at the Ken Jensen Invitational, held at Virgin Valley High School on Friday, March 14. The Trojans secured impressive team placements, with the girls’ team finishing first overall and the boys earning second place, just behind Spring Creek. The PVHS relay teams had a strong showing across multiple events. The girls’ 4x800m relay team placed second with a time of 11:59.87. The Pahrump Valley Mountain Biking Club, made up of middle and high school students, is rolling into action with an exciting Bowling Fundraiser & Silent Auction at the Pahrump Nugget Bowling Alley on Monday, March 24th, from 5 to 9 p.m. For just $15 per person, attendees can enjoy three games of bowling, with shoe and ball rental included.
