The Pahrump Valley High School football program kicked off its 2025 season with a full house, full plates, and full hearts at the annual Spaghetti Dinner and Dessert Auction—raising an incredible $19,620 to support the team.
The Spaghetti Dinner and Dessert Auction was first launched in 2012 by then Head Coach Joe Clayton and his wife Holly Clayton as a way to build community spirit while raising essential funds for the football program.
Aside from a pause in 2016 due to a family emergency and again in 2020 because of COVID restrictions, the event has remained a beloved tradition. In recent years, it has been organized by Racheal Walker, wife of current Head Coach Thomas Walker. This year marked the fourth consecutive dinner and auction hosted by Racheal, continuing the legacy of community support and Trojan pride that began more than a decade ago.

“We are forever grateful for the unwavering support of parents, our community, and local businesses, which makes this event a success every year,” Racheal shared. “This would not be possible without the collective efforts of every individual involved.”
The evening’s feast was headlined by Leo Blundo with Carmelo’s Bistro, who accomplished the impressive feat of feeding approximately 300 attendees with his famous spaghetti—a highlight that never disappoints.
Helping to keep everything running smoothly were Cindy Colucci, who graciously stepped in at the last minute to help organize the serving of the food, the Pahrump Valley High School Dance Team, who dished up plates for all in attendance, and Judy Maughan and the Miss Pahrump Court, who managed the front door and welcomed guests with warmth and professionalism.

As always, the dessert auction brought both laughter and generosity, with spirited bidding and memorable offerings. Ski Censke and his team kept the event lively, with members of the football team assisting to call out bids. A standout of the night was Coach Mike Colucci’s smoked brisket, which earned the highest single bid of the evening at over $1,000—a notable achievement at what is technically a dessert auction.

In a fun twist, the Junior Varsity team’s “ugly cake” managed to raise more money than the Varsity’s entry, earning some bragging rights and a few good-natured laughs from the crowd.

Avena & Sons Electric was recognized for their remarkable generosity, contributing the most overall during the auction and demonstrating the deep-rooted support that exists for PVHS student-athletes.
From the donated desserts to the countless volunteer hours, the event continues to be a reflection of what makes the Pahrump community so special.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed desserts, food, and their precious time to make this event a success every year,” said Walker. “We couldn’t do it without you.”

With the season ahead, the Trojans head into competition knowing their community is behind them.
