Drew’s Tire Pros and Automotive: A Community-Driven Legacy in Pahrump

For more than three decades, Drew’s Tire Pros and Automotive has been more than just a tire and repair shop for Pahrump—it’s been a cornerstone of the community. Owner Drew Witten has worked tirelessly to maintain a business that prioritizes quality service, community involvement, and a genuine connection to the people he serves.

The shop’s journey began when it was part of the Big O Tires franchise. Originally owned by a group that operated several stores in Las Vegas, it was purchased by Drew’s father in 1995. Drew joined the business a year later, learning the ropes and embedding himself in the day-to-day operations. About 15 years ago, Drew officially took over ownership, and seven years ago, he made a bold decision to leave the Big O franchise.

“Big O started as a family-owned business, but when it was bought by a larger corporation, everything changed,” Drew explained. “The corporate mindset didn’t align with how we wanted to operate. It became harder for us to thrive under those conditions, so we switched to Tire Pros, which caters to independent tire dealers like us. That independence allowed us to rebrand, and the name ‘Drew’s’ came naturally—it’s what people were already calling the shop.”

Drew’s decision to part ways with Big O wasn’t just about business; it was about embracing a vision that fit the Pahrump community. “We’re not part of a corporate chain. I live here, my kids went to school here, and this is my town. I’m not just a business owner—I’m your neighbor,” he said.

Being deeply rooted in Pahrump allows Drew to operate differently than larger, corporate-run shops. “We’re not tied to quotas or sales goals, so there’s no high-pressure environment here,” Drew explained. “If someone needs help, we’re here. We can take our time, do the job right, and focus on what’s best for the customer.”

Drew’s local ties extend far beyond his business operations. Over the years, Drew’s Tire Pros has sponsored a wide range of community activities, from youth sports teams and school programs to local events and individual endeavors. “We sponsor everything—soccer, high school sports, the pageants, even racers at the local track,” Drew shared. “If someone comes in with a solid proposal, we try to help. It’s about giving back to the community that’s supported us all these years.”

The shop’s services have also expanded to meet the needs of modern drivers. While it started primarily as a tire shop, Drew’s Tire Pros now offers a full range of automotive services. From oil changes, brakes, and alignments to engine and transmission repairs, hybrid work, and even diesel services, the shop has evolved into a one-stop destination for vehicle maintenance.

“People often think we’re just a tire shop, but we’re so much more than that,” Drew said. “We’re a full-service operation. We’ve even started working on hybrids and advanced vehicle technologies to keep up with the changing industry.”

The team’s commitment to excellence is matched by their focus on customer satisfaction. Drew’s personal involvement in the business ensures that every issue is addressed promptly. “As the owner, I’m here almost all the time, and I handle customer concerns directly,” Drew said. “We treat people how we’d want to be treated. If something goes wrong, we fix it. Integrity is at the heart of what we do.”

One of the unique aspects of Drew’s Tire Pros is its shuttle service, which allows customers to drop off their cars and continue their day without being tied to the shop. “Appointments in this industry don’t always work because you never know how long a job will take,” Drew explained. “Our shuttle service ensures customers aren’t stuck waiting. It’s just one of the ways we try to make things easier for them.”

Drew is equally committed to fostering a positive workplace culture. His team operates like a family, with many employees returning after working elsewhere because of the supportive environment. “We work hard, but we have fun. My employees are friends—they hang out after hours and genuinely enjoy working together,” he said. “Even former employees come back to visit because they miss the camaraderie.”

Drew also plays a role in mentoring local youth. Over the years, he’s hired high school students and given them opportunities to learn valuable skills. Some have gone on to successful careers in the automotive industry, while others have ventured into different fields. “We’ve had kids start here as entry-level tire changers and work their way up to management positions or start their own businesses,” Drew said. “It’s rewarding to see their growth.”

In addition to supporting youth, Drew believes in giving second chances. He has worked with local programs, including drug court initiatives, to hire individuals looking to turn their lives around. “I’ve seen people turn their mistakes into successes,” Drew said, recounting stories of employees who have gone on to lead productive lives. “Everyone deserves a second chance, and we do our part to help where we can.”

The shop’s dedication to the community is evident in the everyday acts of kindness Drew and his team perform, from helping stranded motorists to providing free advice and quick fixes. “We’re more than a business. We’re neighbors,” Drew said. “If someone’s battery dies or they need air in their tires, we’re there to help—no charge, no questions.”

Drew’s Tire Pros also stays ahead of industry trends through regular training and updates, particularly in tire technology. “Tires are getting better and safer all the time,” Drew noted. “It’s important to stay on top of advancements so we can provide the best options for our customers.”

Despite the challenges of running a small business, Drew remains optimistic about the future. “This town has been good to us, and we’re here for the long haul,” he said. “We want to keep building relationships, providing great service, and being a positive part of the community.”

Drew’s Tire Pros and Automotive is more than just a repair shop; it’s a testament to the power of community, hard work, and integrity. Drew’s approach to business—focused on relationships, service, and local pride—continues to set his shop apart as a true Pahrump success story.
