Raiders Surprise Pahrump Valley Football with $20,000 Gift and Unforgettable Experience

What started as an email that seemed too good to be true turned into a moment the Pahrump Valley High School football program won’t soon forget.

Roughly six weeks ago, PVHS Athletic Administrator Kristin Baker received a message offering a donation to the Trojans football program—an offer that initially raised some skepticism.

“I definitely thought it was phishing,” she said. “But when we responded, it turned into something completely unexpected.”

That unexpected opportunity came courtesy of the Las Vegas Raiders and the Raiders Foundation, who invited the Trojans to be part of their Festival of Football celebration in Las Vegas. What the players and staff didn’t know was that the trip would include much more than just attending the event.

The team was transported in style, with a charter bus sent out to Pahrump to bring players and coaches to the festivities. Once there, they were given VIP access, immersed in the energy of the event, and even had the chance to interact with members of the organization—including fist bumps with first round pick, quarterback Fernando Mendoza and meeting the Raiderettes.

“It was a great opportunity for our kids to experience such a cool event,” Henry said. “Most of our kids will never experience something like that again, and it was a great honor.”

But the biggest moment of the night was still to come.

In a surprise reveal, members of the PVHS coaching staff and team captains were called up on stage, where the Raiders Foundation, in partnership with Naqvi Injury Law, announced a $20,000 donation in equipment to the Pahrump Valley football program.

The announcement, which had been kept under wraps, caught the entire group off guard.

“Imagine the surprise when they recognized the team and announced the donation,” Henry said. “I had to keep it a secret, so it made the moment even more special for the kids.”

The donation will go directly toward much-needed practice equipment, including items such as tackling sleds, pads, and training tools that will help elevate the Trojans’ day-to-day preparation. The equipment is expected to be delivered to the school in the coming weeks.

“For them to give us $20,000 in equipment helps our program out so much,” Henry said. “We will for sure put the equipment to use. I cannot thank the Raiders and Naqvi Law enough.”

Beyond the tangible impact of the donation, the experience itself left a lasting impression on the players—many of whom were able to see firsthand what it looks like at the professional level.

The team was treated to dinner, spent time taking in the atmosphere of a major NFL event, and shared moments together that extended far beyond the football field.

“It was awesome,” Henry added. “We have great young men here at Pahrump, and they all really appreciated what was done for us.”

For a program that continues to build momentum, the support from an NFL organization not only provides valuable resources but also reinforces the belief that even a small-town team can be recognized on a much bigger stage.

    And for the Trojans, it’s a night—and a gesture—they won’t forget anytime soon.
