Community members, volunteers and local organizations gathered Saturday, May 16, for the Hope Rises NyECC Fundraiser and Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, hosted by the NyE Communities Coalition (NyECC) at Treasures in Pahrump.
The event served as both a fundraiser and a celebration of the individuals and organizations who have made a meaningful impact throughout the community through service, outreach and volunteerism. Guests enjoyed an afternoon filled with recognition, fellowship and fundraising activities, including a silent auction, pick-a-prize opportunities and a 50/50 raffle.
Decorated with pastel hot air balloon-themed décor and floral accents, the luncheon focused on the theme “Hope Rises,” highlighting the spirit of compassion and community support that NyECC says continues to strengthen Pahrump and Nye County.
During the luncheon, NyECC recognized a wide range of individuals and organizations for their dedication to serving the community. Laura Blankenship received the Hope Rocks Award, while Ash Williamson was honored with the Recruitment Catalyst Award. Alina Quintana earned the Paws & Claws Guardian Award, and Joe Habibi was presented with the Community Hero Award. Daniel “DJ” Mills received the Steadfast Service Award for his continued commitment to the community.
Organizations and businesses were also recognized for their contributions. Green Life Produce received the Corporate Citizenship Excellence Award, Pahrump Valley United Methodist Church earned the Faith in Action Excellence Award, and Montezuma Masonic Lodge was honored with the Service Club Excellence Award. Avery Sampson received the Youth Community Champion Award, while Judge Kim Wanker was presented with the Community Champion Award.
The luncheon also helped raise support for NyECC programs and services, which assist individuals and families throughout the region through a variety of community-based resources and initiatives.
Attendees had the opportunity to connect with local leaders, volunteers and supporters while recognizing the often behind-the-scenes efforts that help improve the quality of life for residents across the community.
NyECC continues to host events and programs throughout the year focused on community outreach, advocacy, volunteerism and support services across Nye County.
