The Pahrump Valley Little League Major Division playoffs delivered two exciting matchups between the Storm and Aviators on May 14 and 15, as both teams traded momentum swings, timely hits and big defensive moments during a pair of high-energy postseason games.
Thursday, May 14: Storm Rallies Late to Defeat Aviators 13-5
The opening playoff meeting between the two teams featured an early Aviators surge before the Storm answered with a dramatic comeback late in the game to secure a 13-5 victory.
The Storm threatened in the top of the first inning against Aviators pitcher Zaya P, as Fowles C drew a leadoff walk and Oliver T followed with a single. Zaya worked out of the inning with help from the defense, including a strikeout and a key out on the bases to keep the game scoreless.
The Aviators quickly responded in the bottom half against Storm starter Tucker H. Bash T opened the offense with a single before Nathan Z drove in the first run of the game with a double to left field. Kael G followed with another RBI double, and Jace M added a run-scoring double of his own as the Aviators built a 4-0 lead. Amal W later reached on a dropped third strike that brought home another run before Wolfe W grounded out to end the inning.
The Storm began to chip away in the third inning. Fowles C singled to start the rally before Greyson S added a base hit. Another single by Fowles C brought home the Storm’s first run, and Fernando M followed with a two-run double to cut the deficit to 5-3.
Storm pitcher Fowles C settled in after entering in relief during the second inning. He retired Sage O and Bash T in order during the bottom of the third and later worked around baserunners in the fourth, highlighted by a double play started by the pitcher himself after Amal W popped up in front of the mound.
The biggest turning point came during the top of the fifth inning. Trailing 5-3, the Storm sent a long line of hitters to the plate and capitalized on patience at the plate, aggressive baserunning and several clutch hits.






Oliver T reached on a dropped third strike to bring home a run, and Tucker H later drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 5-5. Sebastian G reached on another dropped third strike that allowed two more runs to score before Alex D delivered one of the biggest hits of the game — a three-run double that pushed the Storm lead to 10-5. Jace D followed with an RBI single later in the inning as the Storm plated eight runs in the frame.
Fowles C closed out the game strongly on the mound, striking out the side in the fifth inning before the Storm added two insurance runs in the sixth. Fernando M and Greyson S each scored during the inning to stretch the lead to 13-5.
For the Storm, Fowles C finished with multiple hits and RBIs while also turning in a strong relief performance with six strikeouts. Fernando M added a key two-run double, Alex D collected a three-run double during the decisive fifth inning, and Oliver T, Greyson S and Tucker H each contributed offensively.
The Aviators received strong offensive performances from Nathan Z, Kael G and Jace M, who each doubled early in the game. Sage O and Bash T also added hits, while the Aviators defense turned several key outs early to preserve their lead before the Storm rally.






Friday, May 15: Aviators Walk Off Storm in Championship Thriller, 12-11
The following night, the two teams met again in an even more dramatic contest, with the Aviators rallying from a large deficit before walking off the Storm 12-11 in a championship game filled with momentum swings from start to finish.
The Storm jumped ahead immediately against Aviators pitcher Link. Oliver T walked and later scored on passed balls before Tucker H drove in two more runs with a double to give the Storm an early 3-0 advantage.
The Aviators answered in the bottom half against Storm starter Fowles C. Kael G ripped an RBI double to score Zaya P and cut the lead to 3-1, though Fowles C escaped further trouble with a strikeout to end the inning.
The Storm extended the lead in the second inning after Lyla R singled and later scored on a bases-loaded walk to Chassl K. Link worked through traffic on the mound, recording a pair of strikeouts to keep the game within reach.
The Storm offense exploded again in the third inning. Greyson S and Fowles C each singled before Fernando M walked to load the bases. Sebastian G was hit by a pitch to bring in a run, and Troy T and Lyla R followed with RBI walks. Jace D and Chassl K each drew additional run-scoring walks before Oliver T was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, helping the Storm stretch the lead to 11-1.






Despite the deficit, the Aviators steadily battled back. Sage O singled home a run in the third inning, and Bash T later drove in another run with a groundout.
The biggest rally came during the fourth inning. Nathan Z doubled to begin the inning before Jace M delivered an RBI single. Wolfe W later brought home another run after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Link then sparked the comeback with a two-run double to center field, and Nolan W added an RBI single moments later.
Sage O followed with another RBI hit that brought the Aviators within one, and Bash T tied the game at 11-11 with a single to shortstop before the inning finally ended.
Defensively, both teams made key plays throughout the game to keep momentum alive. Tucker H threw out a runner attempting to steal home in the second inning for the Storm, while Fowles C later picked off Mason L at first base. The Aviators also turned several important defensive outs in the late innings, including a caught stealing by Zaya P at shortstop and steady infield play from Nathan Z at first base.
The game remained tied heading into the bottom of the fifth inning after both teams worked through tense defensive frames.
Jace M doubled for the Aviators in the fifth before Amal W delivered the game-winning RBI single, scoring the deciding run and completing the comeback victory for the Aviators.
Offensively for the Aviators, Sage O finished with multiple hits and RBIs, while Kael G, Jace M, Link, Nolan W, Bash T and Amal W all contributed key hits during the comeback effort.
For the Storm, Tucker H had a strong offensive night with a double and multiple RBIs, while Fowles C reached base repeatedly and contributed both at the plate and on the mound. Greyson S, Fernando M, Lyla R and Alex D also played important roles during the Storm’s early offensive surge.
Together, the two playoff matchups showcased the competitiveness of the Major Division postseason, with both teams producing clutch performances, resilient comebacks and memorable moments throughout the series.
