For Anthony Greco, founder of the Pahrump Small Business Association, the mission is clear: protect and uplift the small, independent businesses that give the community its unique character. The Rosemary Clarke Middle School football team enjoyed a special night on the field as they hosted their first-ever “Under the Lights” game, a fundraiser that brought more than 100 members of the community together and raised just over $1,600 for the Sharks program. The Rosemary Clarke Middle School Sharks cross country team had a great day on September 6th at Sunset Park, which was the second race of their season. The race was a quick one, being only 1.3 miles. The day was already warm by the time of the middle school races, which took place at 10:25 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Despite the heat, multiple runners on both the boys’ and girls’ teams set new personal records among a field of 221 male finishers and 196 female finishers from 23 different middle schools. The Pahrump Valley High School Trojans took to their home field Friday night, September 5, for a clash against the Spring Valley Grizzlies that turned into a fight down to the final seconds. Visitors to this year’s Pahrump Fall Festival will have more than just carnival rides, vendors, and entertainment to look forward to. Optum–Nevada’s healthcare team is bringing its Medicine on the Move mobile medical center to the event on Saturday, September 27, offering free preventive screenings to local residents. The mobile unit will be stationed at Petrack Park, 1071 E. On Tuesday, September 3, the Lady Trojans traveled to Boulder City to compete against several Southern Nevada schools. Representing Pahrump Valley were Raegan Saldaña and Tiffany Sartin, who both completed all 18 holes on a challenging course.
