The Rosemary Clarke Middle School Sharks cross country team competed in their third race of the season at the Moapa Valley Pirate Invitational, held at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Moapa. The middle school race covered 1.86 miles and featured an elevation change of 74 feet. The boys’ team had a strong showing with standout performances from their runners. Zander Thompson led the team with the fastest time of 12:18, and Kamdon Jones had a strong run, finishing in 13:26. Both Zander and Kamdon earned medals for their top finishes. The Pahrump Valley High School tennis teams made the trip to Moapa Valley on Friday, September 12, and returned home with hard-fought victories on both the boys’ and girls’ sides. Each match came down to the wire, but the Trojans displayed grit and teamwork to pull out close wins against the Pirates. For the boys, the contest ended 10-8 in Pahrump’s favor. The Pahrump Valley High School Trojans boys’ soccer team battled to a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the Cristo Rey Royals at home on Thursday, September 11, in a match filled with near-goals, dramatic saves, and physical play. The Rosemary Clarke Middle School Sharks cross country team had a great day on September 6th at Sunset Park, which was the second race of their season. The race was a quick one, being only 1.3 miles. The day was already warm by the time of the middle school races, which took place at 10:25 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Despite the heat, multiple runners on both the boys’ and girls’ teams set new personal records among a field of 221 male finishers and 196 female finishers from 23 different middle schools.
