    Senior Spotlight: Legend Reigns

Legend Reigns has had an inspiring journey at Pahrump Valley High School, filled with achievements, personal growth, and memorable experiences that have shaped him into the confident individual he is today.

Reflecting on his high school years, Legend recalls how performing in concerts transformed him. “I started off shy, constantly looking over my shoulder,” he shares, “but as the years went on, I grew more confident, and my voice and my trumpet grew with it.” His love for music has been a defining part of his high school experience, and so has his involvement in sports, particularly his journey to the State tournament for tennis this year. “Making it to State showed me that anything is possible if you put in enough effort,” Legend says. The experience, marked by a nail-biting tiebreaker, ended in an exhilarating victory that he cherishes deeply.

Legend’s high school experience has been rich in extracurricular involvement. As a dedicated band member for four years, he found joy in creating music from his own sound. In addition to band, Legend has been a pivotal part of the Men’s Volleyball Club, which he helped create. Serving as team captain and playing the position of setter, he discovered a spotlight he “never wanted to get out of.”

Of all his achievements, Legend is most proud of making it to State for tennis. This moment during his senior year, where his team won by a thrilling 49-47 tiebreaker, stands out as one of his proudest. “We all cheered and screamed our heads off. It made me love my teammates and this sport even more,” he reflects.

As graduation approaches, Legend has his sights set on college, where he plans to study Health Sciences with a focus on Kinesiology. He aims to become a physical therapist, driven by a passion to help others and support those who embody the same fighting spirit that he does.

Legend’s advice for underclassmen is simple but powerful: “Don’t worry about the future. Focus on the present and love every minute of high school because you only get one experience. Take risks, and make sure to have no regrets.”

Legend extends a special thank you to his coaches, Coach Dela Rosa and Coach Thomassian, for their unwavering support and guidance throughout his high school journey.
