The Pahrump community showed its strength and compassion on Saturday, August 16, 2025, when friends, neighbors, and supporters gathered for a fundraiser to benefit Danny Sanchez and his family. The event began outside Shenanigans on Calvada Boulevard at 10 a.m. and carried into the evening with a variety of activities designed to bring people together while raising money for the cause. From the start, the day had the energy of a true community celebration, with food vendors, games, raffles, and family-friendly attractions keeping the crowd engaged throughout the day.

Those in attendance enjoyed treats from local favorites such as Kona Ice, Oh My Lumpia, Pete’s Smoked Meats and World’s Best Corn Dogs, while boutique booths and sweet shops like Meme’s Boutique and Sherrie Marie’s Attic added to the festive atmosphere.

A cornhole tournament brought out teams eager to show off their skills, while children enjoyed bouncing and sliding at the inflatable play area. Guests were given the opportunity to create get well cards for Danny and there was even a visit from a Princess. To keep everyone refreshed, organizers had plenty of cold drinks and snacks available.

At Petrack Park, the focus shifted toward lively competition with a 7v7 soccer match and a “Beat the Goalie” challenge that invited participants of all ages to take part.

The fundraising effort was further boosted by raffles that offered prizes ranging from gift certificates and themed baskets to dining experiences and professional services. Meanwhile, the online auction—launched the day before the event—added another layer of excitement with high-value items such as a Vegas Golden Knights hockey stick signed by Tomas Hertl, a Cowabunga Bay family pack, and VGK and Raiders tickets. The combined effort of both in-person activities and online support has already raised more than $5,000, a figure that continues to climb thanks to the generosity of the community.

Sponsors and local businesses played an important role in making the day possible, with support from organizations such as Shenanigans, Pahrump Valley Community News, Dr. Yim, Celestial Health Solutions, and many others. Their contributions, paired with the tireless work of volunteers, helped ensure the event was not only successful in raising funds but also meaningful in spirit. For Danny Sanchez’s family, the day was more than just a financial boost—it was a reminder that their community stands firmly behind them during a difficult time.

The fundraising is not over yet. The online auction remains open through Sunday, August 24, giving those who were unable to attend in person a chance to get involved. From now until 5 p.m. that day, people can still bid on the many items available and contribute to the effort to ease the family’s burden. The full online auction can be accessed at http://butterflyeffectnonprofit.betterworld.org/auctions/fundraiser-danny-sanchez.
With more than $5,000 already raised and continued support pouring in, the fundraiser has proven to be a powerful display of unity, generosity, and care, showing once again how Pahrump comes together when one of its own is in need.
