Trojans Showcase Depth and Determination at Windy Home Meet

The Pahrump Valley High School track and field team returned to their home track on Tuesday, March 30, for their second home meet of the season, welcoming Beatty and Amplus Academy for a smaller, mid-week competition that highlighted the program’s depth and development.

With cooler temperatures than the team has seen all season and steady winds of 15+ miles per hour—along with stronger gusts throughout the evening—the conditions added an extra challenge. Still, the Trojans embraced the opportunity, turning in strong performances across the board.

Unlike larger invitationals, weekday meets serve a specific and valuable purpose for the team. With one of the largest rosters in the region, not every athlete competes in invitational meets, where entries are limited to top finishers. These mid-week competitions provide an important platform for the rest of the team to gain race experience, chase personal records and contribute to the program’s overall growth. The result is a supportive, competitive environment where every athlete plays a role.

That depth was immediately evident in the relay events. Both the boys and girls 4×800 teams took first place, with the boys squad of Josh Gent, Sam Grabbe, Manny Dupart and Akim Khan setting the tone early. The girls followed with a winning effort from Jules Ondrisko, Addi Nelsen, Sophie Romero and Alexis Clouser.

In the hurdle events, Aeden Redditt led the way in the boys 110m hurdles with a personal best time of 21.00, followed by Samuel Sylva in second. On the girls side of the 100m hurdles, Diona Nixon finished second with a time of 18.55, while Kyndra Cardwell followed with a time of 21.39.

The boys 100m dash featured a large group of Trojans gaining valuable race experience. Redditt finished first with a time of 12.54, followed by Evan Strain with a personal best of 12.91, Rene Gonzalez Valdez in 13.10, Cade Wulfenstein in 13.14, Joseph Scheer in 13.71, Kelan Sheppard in 13.92, Azael Machuca in 14.14, Orion Schmidt in 14.24, Armani Jenkins in 14.56, Tyler Weaver in 14.73, Trenton Linn in 14.77, Juan Carlos Rodriguez in 14.81, Everest Leavitt in 14.96, Cade Castaneda with a personal best of 14.97 and Alexander Martinez in 15.03.
