The Pahrump Valley High School girls’ golf team continued its season with back-to-back matches that highlighted steady effort and valuable experience for the young program. On Tuesday, September 3, the Lady Trojans traveled to Boulder City to compete against several Southern Nevada schools. Representing Pahrump Valley were Raegan Saldaña and Tiffany Sartin, who both completed all 18 holes on a challenging course. Saldaña earned a 10th-place finish with a score of 101, finishing at +29 to par, while Sartin tied for 20th place overall. Optum–Nevada’s healthcare team is bringing its Medicine on the Move mobile medical center to the event on Saturday, September 27, offering free preventive screenings to local residents. For the seventh year in a row, 75-year-old Pahrump resident Karen Dallatore is pedaling with purpose. She is once again participating in the nationwide Great Cycle Challenge, a month-long effort where riders across the country log miles throughout September to raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund. “This is not a race—it’s a challenge,” Karen explained. “Anybody can sign up, set a personal mileage goal, and fundraise to support research.
