Pahrump Valley High School seniors preparing for life after graduation have a new opportunity to earn financial support for their next chapter, as the Kinthiseng Family Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications for 2026. Created with a strong commitment to the local community, the scholarship aims to support students who plan to continue their education—whether through a traditional college path or a technical or trade program. More than just academic achievement, the fund places a meaningful emphasis on the whole student, recognizing that success comes in many forms. A group of Rosemary Clarke Middle School students traded the desert landscape for ocean horizons last week, taking part in the school’s annual educational trip to the Catalina Island Marine Institute at Fox Landing. The five-day experience, open to seventh and eighth graders, brought 41 students to Catalina Island, accompanied by six chaperones. Pahrump brought the heat in more ways than one as the Annual Chili Cook-Off returned March 20–22, delivering a weekend filled with flavor, fun and community spirit. Pahrump Valley residents looking to further their education will once again have local support, as Desert View Hospital has announced the return of its scholarship program for a second year. Building on the success of its inaugural effort, the hospital will award a total of six scholarships in 2026, providing $5,000 in funding to students and adult learners in the community. The scholarships include four awards of $500, one $1,000 award and one $2,000 award. The program is open to both graduating high school seniors and adults pursuing higher education.
