Rosemary Clarke Middle School is gearing up for an exciting start to the sports season with practice and tryouts for various teams set to begin next week. Students are encouraged to come out, showcase their skills, and join the athletic community.

    Cross Country

    • Practice Starts: Monday, August 12, 2024, at 2:30 PM
    • Coaches: Ben Veloz and Katie Floyd

Boys and girls interested in running cross country should come prepared for an invigorating start to the season under the guidance of experienced coaches. This is not a sport that has cuts.

    Volleyball

    • Tryouts Begin: Monday, August 12, 2024, at 2:30 PM
    • Coaches: Sarai Guthridge, Rebecca Adams, and Dawn Mobley

Aspiring volleyball players will have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents and secure a spot on the team. This sport will have cuts.

    Football

    • Tryouts Begin: Monday, August 12, 2024, at 3:00 PM
    • Coaches: Jeff Corbett, Brian Strain, and Juan Chavez

Football enthusiasts will hit the field for tryouts, aiming to impress the coaching team and earn their place on the team. This sport will have cuts

    Cheer

    • Coaches: Kelley Hodge and Heather Kahraman

Cheerleading practice start time is yet to be determined. The team was selected last spring and is expected to start practice later in August.

RCMS encourages all interested students to participate in these tryouts and practices, fostering a sense of community, teamwork, and athletic excellence. Just a reminder, all athletes must be signed up in Register My Athlete prior to tryouts/practice. Any athlete cut from a sport will have the opportunity to run on the cross country team if they choose. For more information, students and parents can contact the respective coaches or the school’s new Athletic Director, David Lamb at dlamb@nyeschools.org.
