The PVHS Girls Varsity soccer team achieved a commanding 9-1 victory over Sloan Canyon on Monday, September 9, showcasing their growing confidence and teamwork. After a challenging start to the season, the Trojans found their stride, with five different players contributing to the scoreboard.
Head Coach Amy Carlson praised the team’s progress, saying, “The girls’ communication was much better, and their confidence started to show as they worked the ball around the field. We took a ton of shots and connected passes. We still had some errors, but the girls didn’t let those get them down this game.”
Ryleigh Denton led the charge with a hat trick, scoring 3 goals, while Natalia Vallin and Valery Romero each added 2 goals. Shae Boucher and Khylar Park rounded out the scoring with 1 goal apiece.
Coach Carlson highlighted the importance of the win, noting, “It was a win much needed as they learn to grow together. Every game is an opportunity for growth, and we focus one game at a time, dialing in what is working and adapting what isn’t.”
The victory marked a crucial step forward for the Trojans, as they continue to build their confidence and refine their skills throughout the season.
