The PVHS Cheer team held a special cheer camp fundraiser, culminating in a memorable performance with current cheerleaders and PVHS cheer alumni during the Pink Game for Football on Thursday, October 10, 2024. The event was held to raise funds for the cheer program and promote community involvement. Sixty-five girls participated in the camp, learning skills, routines, and cheers throughout the sessions.
The highlight of the event was the joint performance at the Pink Game, a night dedicated to breast cancer awareness. The cheerleaders, alongside PVHS alumni, showcased a dance routine followed by a chant and cheer that energized the crowd. The Pink Game added a special layer of meaning to the event, reminding everyone in attendance about the importance of community support and awareness.
Coach Nelson and the cheer team were thrilled with the turnout and are excited to build on the success of this event. They plan to host another cheer camp fundraiser during basketball season, expected to take place in late January or early February.
For anyone interested in participating, Coach Nelson encourages families to stay connected through the PVHS athletics Facebook page, where updates and sign-up information will be shared. “We can’t wait to do this again soon,” Coach Nelson said.
The cheer camp fundraiser exemplified the spirit of PVHS, bringing together students, alumni, and the broader community in a fun and impactful way.
