The Pahrump Valley High School girls’ junior varsity basketball team closed out its home schedule on a high note Friday, February 6, earning a strong 42-33 victory over the Boulder City Eagles. The Lady Trojans set the tone early with aggressive defense, balanced scoring, and consistent teamwork, delivering a confident performance in front of their home crowd.
Pahrump wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as Aurora Bowers opened the game with a determined drive to the basket for the first points of the night. The Lady Trojans quickly built momentum as Addi Nelsen found Cindal Monahan inside for another bucket, followed by Olivia Veloz converting in the paint to push the lead to 6-0. Bowers continued to stay active offensively, drawing a foul and calmly knocking down both free throws to extend the advantage.





Veloz provided a spark midway through the first quarter with a steal and coast-to-coast layup, showcasing both defensive awareness and transition speed. She remained a key contributor throughout the period, adding multiple baskets as Pahrump controlled the pace and carried a 14-4 lead into the end of the opening quarter.
The Lady Trojans maintained their energy in the second quarter, with Raegan Saldaña making her presence felt on the glass. Saldaña grabbed an offensive rebound and powered in a putback basket, then later connected with Monahan for another score. Saldaña added to her strong quarter by finishing off an inbound play for two more points, helping Pahrump maintain a comfortable lead.





Adrian Rogers contributed valuable minutes and scoring in the second period, earning a trip to the free-throw line and converting one of two attempts. Monahan continued to battle inside, collecting her own rebound and finishing through contact for another point at the line. Late in the half, Ariana Apolinar delivered a long inbound pass that set up a Veloz rebound and putback, giving the Lady Trojans a 24-8 advantage heading into halftime.
Boulder City showed resilience in the third quarter, putting together a scoring run that trimmed into Pahrump’s lead. Saldaña opened the half with another basket inside, but the Eagles responded with improved perimeter shooting and transition offense. Despite the surge, the Lady Trojans answered with timely execution. Rogers delivered a strong finish at the rim, while Apolinar connected on a cross-court inbound pass to Monahan for another inside bucket. Rogers later converted both free throws after drawing contact, helping Pahrump hold a 34-27 lead at the end of the third quarter.
The final quarter saw both teams battle with intensity, but Pahrump relied on its composure and interior scoring to close out the game. Monahan opened the scoring with another basket and later added a crucial rebound-and-score sequence off a pass from Jaycie Hayes. Rogers continued to provide a steady offensive presence, scoring inside and following her own shot for a putback basket that helped the Lady Trojans maintain control in the closing minutes.




Boulder City continued to compete and forced several trips to the free-throw line late in the game, but Pahrump’s defensive effort and rebounding proved enough to secure the victory. The Lady Trojans sealed the contest with a 42-33 win, capping off their final home appearance of the season with a well-rounded team performance.
With the victory, the Lady Trojans closed out their season on a high note, showcasing the growth, teamwork, and resilience they developed throughout the year. The final game reflected the team’s progress on both ends of the court, as multiple players stepped up and contributed in meaningful ways.
