Pahrump Valley High School’s Culinary Program is preparing to close out the school year in a way it never has before—by transforming a traditional senior dinner into a fully immersive experience that blends food, storytelling and student creativity into one unforgettable evening.
Set for May 13, this final senior-led event, titled The Banquet of Allegiance, invites guests to step into a medieval fantasy world where the experience goes far beyond the plate. Created through a unique collaboration between the Culinary Program and the school’s RPG Club, the evening will feature not only a multi-course meal but also a live battle gaming tournament unfolding throughout the night.
“This is something we’ve never done before,” said Chef Jones. “Guests won’t just eat—they’ll experience it.”
At the heart of the event is senior Breeanna Smiley, who has taken full ownership of the project from concept to execution. Drawing on her involvement in both Culinary and the RPG Club, Smiley has designed every aspect of the evening, including the theme, menu, service style and overall guest experience.
“It’s been incredible to watch her bring both of those worlds together,” Chef Jones said. “This event really shows how far she’s come—not just in cooking, but in leadership, creativity and taking ownership of something from start to finish.”
The menu itself reflects the imaginative theme, offering dishes that feel pulled straight from a fantasy setting while still showcasing the technical skills of the Culinary students. Guests can expect items like Fairy Garden Focaccia, Pomegranate Gamefowl and a delicately crafted Raspberry Rose tart to finish the evening.
Beyond the food, the immersive element is what sets this dinner apart. As guests dine, they’ll be surrounded by the sights and energy of a live role-playing battle tournament, adding an interactive layer that transforms the evening into a shared experience rather than a traditional sit-down meal.
Chef Jones said events like this continue to evolve because of the students themselves.
“These events keep growing because our students keep stepping up in big ways,” he said. “One event leads to another, and it’s been amazing to see them take the lead and create something for our school and community.”
The Banquet of Allegiance will be held Wednesday, May 13, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and dinner service beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased in advance.
As the final senior dinner of the year, the event not only celebrates the culinary talents of PVHS students but also highlights the creativity, collaboration and leadership that define the program.
“If you’re able to come support them,” Chef Jones added, “I promise it will be worth it.”
