When Calvada Marketplace first opened its doors in Pahrump in July 2024 under the name Boss Babe, it was envisioned as a shared retail space where local vendors could sell their products year-round rather than relying solely on pop-ups and special events. Less than two years later, the shop has evolved into a fully realized marketplace reflecting both the growth of its vendor community and a broader vision for collaborative retail in the area.
Owned by Jonathon Fischer, Calvada Marketplace represents a rebrand and expansion of the original concept, aligning the store’s identity more closely with what it has become. While the name has changed, the foundation remains the same: providing a welcoming, well-organized space where small businesses, makers, vintage sellers, and secondhand resellers can thrive together.
The move to Pahrump in early 2024 was encouraged by store manager, Matt Fischer, whose mother has lived in the community for many years. Familiar with the area and its potential, he believed the town would be a strong fit for the type of collective retail space Jonathon had long envisioned. After relocating in February, the concept quickly took shape as local vendor participation and community interest grew.
Before opening the storefront, Jonathon had spent nearly eight years working as a vendor himself, primarily selling handmade candles and bath and body products at pop-ups and events. That experience helped shape how Calvada Marketplace operates, with an emphasis on vendor support, accessibility, and creating a shopping experience that highlights the individuality of each seller.
Originally named Boss Babe, the shop reflected the makeup of its early vendor base, which was largely female-owned businesses. As the store expanded, however, so did the range of sellers and products. The rebrand to Calvada Marketplace allowed the name to better represent the diverse vendor mix and the evolving identity of the store.

Today, Calvada Marketplace features just over 30 vendors, a number chosen intentionally to allow each seller enough space to showcase their products. The vendor lineup reflects a wide range of specialties, giving customers the opportunity to explore handmade items, vintage finds, and unique specialty goods all in one location.
Shoppers searching for vintage décor, collectibles, and nostalgic pieces can explore vendors such as Vintage Charm, which offers vintage furniture, décor, toys, and collectibles, and Butterfly Universe, which features vintage décor, jewelry, mystery bags, and toys. Carmen specializes in vintage jewelry, glass pieces, and hats, while Buttercup Hodgepodge offers mystery bags alongside vintage Avon bottles. Root 66 brings a collection of vinyl records, books, collectible cards, and additional vintage items, and Raven Farms combines vintage décor with handmade sewn products. Lupa also focuses on curated vintage décor, while Buzy Beez features a mix of vintage items, crochet creations, glass pieces, and jewelry. The Foxy Irish offers a large selection of vintage Pyrex, CorningWare, Tupperware, clothing, handbags, and jewelry, and Terry provides vintage glassware, décor, and men’s clothing.

Handmade artisans also play a strong role in the marketplace. Rosestead offers handmade soaps and bath and body products, while Lucky Pup Dog Balm specializes in handmade dog care products. Axe Head Ceramics provides handcrafted ceramic cups, bowls, and pottery, and Kat creates handmade jewelry along with laser-engraved cutting boards, while Some Promo Guy and Joe Bob both specialize in handcrafted wood décor and laser-cut wood items. The Crafty Cupcake offers handmade teacup succulents and decorative pieces, and Gabbie creates crochet stuffed animals along with handmade greeting cards. Spirited Style Designs provides handmade stickers, bookmarks, and keychains, while Maria offers handcrafted décor items.

Food and treat vendors are also well represented throughout the store. Sweet Confetti offers cookies and candy creations, FD Candy features freeze-dried candy and specialty sweet treats, and Puffcorn LV brings a selection of puffcorn and chocolate treats.

Apparel, accessories, and lifestyle items are available from vendors such as Y’all Come Back Now, which specializes in men’s vintage and secondhand clothing along with home décor, Cassandra, who offers hair braid extensions, accessories, and global lifestyle products, and SoYaa!, which provides sublimated items and pop culture and character-themed merchandise.
One of the most distinctive additions within the store is Mojave Flame, which features a scent bar allowing customers to create custom candles, perfumes, and room sprays. Mojave Flame also offers handmade candles, bath and body products, women’s clothing, and metaphysical and spiritual products, creating an interactive shopping experience unlike many traditional retail spaces.

Several vendors also maintain additional locations, helping expand their brands beyond the marketplace. FD Candy operates multiple storefronts, Raven Farms also sells products inside Just In Time Too in Pahrump, Puffcorn LV has its own store in Las Vegas, Mojave Flame products are also available at Honey & Sage Salon in Pahrump, and Butterfly Universe maintains a location inside Charleston Antique Mall in Las Vegas. Calvada Marketplace embraces these connections, viewing them as opportunities to strengthen awareness and support for small businesses.
Shopping inside Calvada Marketplace is designed to be simple and convenient. A modern consignment software system allows customers to browse items from multiple vendors and check out through a single transaction, just like a traditional retail store. Vendors benefit from the system as well, with the ability to track inventory and monitor sales in real time, helping them manage their businesses more efficiently.
The physical layout of the store reflects the marketplace’s modern approach. The shop is fully ADA compliant, allowing wheelchair accessibility throughout the space. Customers frequently comment on the open design, clean presentation, and welcoming atmosphere, which encourages visitors to browse comfortably and take their time exploring each vendor’s display.
Community involvement remains a strong focus for the business. While Calvada Marketplace has moved away from large outdoor vendor markets, it is introducing community rummage sales that align with its vintage and secondhand offerings. These swap-meet-style events will be open to the public at no cost and held every other month outside of the summer season. The first will take place during the Re-Grand Opening celebration on February 21, 2026, with the rummage sale running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the full event continuing until 5 p.m. Additional events are planned for April, with rummage sales returning in October after the summer heat.
The store also offers a loyalty program, allowing customers to earn store credit toward future purchases with every dollar spent.
Interest in joining Calvada Marketplace continues to grow, with a vendor waitlist currently about 10 sellers deep. Vendors interested in being considered can email hello@calvadamarketplace.com. The website, calvadamarketplace.com, is already live, and plans are underway to launch online shopping by March. The online store will feature a curated selection of items from participating vendors, offering in-store pickup, curbside pickup, and shipping. An integrated inventory system ensures that one-of-a-kind items are automatically removed from availability once sold, whether online or in-store.
Calvada Marketplace is open Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. As the shop continues to grow under its new name, its focus remains on creating a collaborative marketplace where local businesses can succeed together and shoppers can discover something new with every visit.
