Pahrump residents will soon have another option for local banking services as Create Credit Union prepares to open its newest Southern Nevada branch in the community.
Create Credit Union, formerly known as Clark County Credit Union, will officially open its Pahrump branch to members on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 70 S. Nevada Highway, Suite 160. A grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting will follow on Tuesday, Oct. 6, beginning at 10 a.m. at the new location.
The expansion will bring the credit union’s personalized financial services and banking technology to Pahrump as the institution continues to grow its presence throughout Southern Nevada.
The Pahrump branch will be led by General Manager Sherri A. Haldorson, a financial services professional with more than 30 years of experience in banking and credit unions.
In her new role, Haldorson will oversee the branch’s daily operations while working directly with members to help them reach their financial goals through personalized service and financial guidance.
Throughout her career, Haldorson has held a variety of leadership and member-service positions, with an emphasis on developing relationships with the people and communities she serves. According to Create Credit Union, that approach fits closely with the credit union’s philosophy of putting people before profits.
“Create Credit Union embodies the philosophy of people helping people,” Haldorson said. “I look forward to building lasting relationships in the Pahrump community and helping our members achieve financial success at every stage of life.”
Haldorson already has strong ties to the Pahrump community, with much of her time outside of work devoted to local organizations and service.
As the spouse of a U.S. Marine for 23 years, Haldorson developed a lifelong dedication to community service. She currently serves as a second lieutenant with the Civil Air Patrol cadet program and sits on the board of the Pahrump Marine Corps League.
She also volunteers with several organizations, including the American Legion, Moose Lodge and Ronald McDonald House, and is an active participant in community events including the Pahrump Fall Festival and Fourth of July Parade.
Along with traditional financial services, the new branch will introduce technology designed to give members additional flexibility in handling routine transactions.
The location will feature a Super ATM capable of performing many of the everyday transactions normally completed with a teller. Members will be able to use the machine to make cash and check deposits, withdraw money and complete other routine transactions, providing additional convenience and extended access to banking services.
Create Credit Union describes itself as Nevada’s top-performing SBA 504 provider. The SBA 504 program is designed to help small businesses finance major fixed assets, including real estate and equipment, through long-term financing.
The institution traces its history to 1951 and operated for decades as Clark County Credit Union before becoming Create Credit Union. As a not-for-profit financial institution, the credit union serves more than 60,000 members.
Its membership includes municipal employees from Clark County and the cities of Henderson, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas, along with medical professionals, members of Nevada Public Radio and numerous select employer groups.
Create Credit Union currently reports approximately $1.6 billion in assets and six branches throughout Southern Nevada. The organization says its mission centers on helping members achieve financial success through education, innovation and community partnerships.
The addition of the Pahrump branch will extend that presence into Nye County and provide another financial institution for residents and businesses seeking local banking services.
The Pahrump branch will begin serving members Sept. 8 at 70 S. Nevada Highway, Suite 160. The community will then have an opportunity to officially welcome Create Credit Union during its grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 6 at the branch.
