The Pahrump Valley High School girls’ golf team was represented by Raegan Saldaña and Natalie Soto during an 18-hole match Thursday, Sept. 3, at the CasaBlanca Golf Club in Mesquite, the home course of Virgin Valley High School.
Saldaña led the Trojans with a round of 96, finishing 24 strokes over par. Her performance placed her seventh among the 26 golfers competing in the match and made her one of only eight players to finish with a score below 100.
Soto completed the course with a score of 110, or 38 over par. She tied for 13th place in the individual standings, putting both Pahrump golfers within the top half of the field.
With only two golfers competing, Pahrump Valley did not record a team score. The team standings were calculated using four individual scores from each participating school.
Boulder City finished first with a combined score of 350, followed by The Meadows at 413. Host Virgin Valley placed third with a 416, while Moapa Valley finished fourth at 495.
Boulder City’s Emmerson Hinds earned individual medalist honors after shooting an even-par 72. Chloe Sakkab of The Meadows followed with a 74.
Although the Trojans did not have enough golfers to compete in the team standings, Saldana and Soto ensured Pahrump Valley was well represented on the course. Both completed the full 18-hole round and secured places in the upper half of the individual results.
