The Pahrump Valley High School Junior Varsity football team closed out its season in commanding fashion on Friday, October 24, with a 42–0 shutout win against the Boulder City Eagles on the road. From start to finish, the Trojans’ defense dictated the pace, while the offense executed efficiently to control the game and cap off a strong season performance.
The tone was set early when Manny Alvarez intercepted a Boulder City pass and returned it deep into Eagle territory. Quarterback Anthony Montanez quickly went to work, connecting with Kobe Farmer for a first down and later hitting Landon Holzer to set up first and goal. A few plays later, Kain Johnson powered his way into the end zone for the first touchdown of the night. Montanez followed it up by converting the two-point attempt with a shovel pass to Nathan Elliott, giving the Trojans an early 8–0 lead.

The defense continued to swarm. Armani Jenkins delivered a key tackle on the ensuing kickoff, and Zelin Kamanu made a strong stop on a short pass to end the first quarter with Pahrump up 16–0. Boulder City’s attempts to find rhythm in the second quarter were consistently disrupted by a relentless Trojan front. Ethan Zuniga, Alvarez, Angel Tepale, and Sione Petelo all made key tackles, while penalties kept the Eagles backed up.
Caleb Rothgeb grabbed his first interception of the game midway through the second quarter, halting another Eagles drive. The Trojans’ offense responded with steady completions to Farmer and Carlos Flores, capped by a deep 35-yard strike to Flores that energized the sideline. Moments before halftime, Montanez intercepted an Eagles pass and returned it for a touchdown, extending the lead. Tepale added the two-point conversion, sending Pahrump into the half up 24–0.

The defensive showcase continued after halftime. Montanez tallied his second pick-six of the night with 6:31 left in the third quarter, pushing the score to 30–0. Not long after, Johnson added a defensive touchdown of his own — his second score of the game — after intercepting a Boulder City pass and racing to the end zone. By that point, with a 36–0 lead and a running clock, the Trojans had complete control.

In the fourth quarter, Rothgeb recorded his second interception, setting up a long run by Jenkins that put Pahrump in scoring position once more. Montanez capped the night with a keeper for the final touchdown, sealing the 42–0 victory.

From explosive defensive plays to consistent offensive execution, the Trojans’ JV squad displayed the teamwork and determination that has defined their season. The lopsided win over Boulder City was a fitting conclusion to a campaign marked by growth, discipline, and dominance on both sides of the ball.
