The Pahrump Valley High School Trojans softball team delivered a strong performance on Tuesday, April 8, securing an 18-2 win on the road against the Valley High School Vikings.
The game opened with the Trojans more than batting through their lineup in the first inning. Dakota Glenn got on base with a walk and followed it up with a base hit in her second at-bat of the same inning. Danika Cox-Hosino and Madison Rodriguez each added triples to the rally, while Kayleen Carranza and Evalenne Armendariz chipped in with base hits. With a mix of hits and walks, the Trojans put up 10 runs in the top of the first.

The Vikings responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning, capitalizing on an error, a walk, and some aggressive base running before the Trojans closed the inning with a strikeout.
Pahrump Valley kept the pressure on, adding seven more runs in the second and one in the third, while holding Valley scoreless for the remainder of the game. The mercy rule was invoked after the third inning.
Freshman pitcher April Ivy led the way from the circle, striking out five and walking two without allowing a single hit. The Trojans totaled 21 at-bats, 9 hits, 11 RBIs, and 5 walks in the win.
