Romilyn “Romi” Carreon, a proud 2020 graduate of Pahrump Valley High School (PVHS), embodies the spirit of community, leadership, and ambition. During her years at PVHS, Romi was more than just a student; she was a central figure in many school activities and a role model for her peers. Her involvement spanned multiple domains, from sports to student leadership, which laid the foundation for the career she would later pursue.

Romi’s high school journey was filled with notable achievements and diverse experiences. She was a dedicated member of the PVHS cheer team for her first two years, bringing energy and school pride to every game. Her athleticism extended to the track, where she was a committed pole vaulter for all four years, showcasing her dedication and competitive spirit. Additionally, Romi was deeply involved in student governance. She served as her class vice president twice and, in her junior year, rose to the position of student body vice president. These roles allowed her to develop crucial leadership skills, learn about teamwork, and discover the impact of representing her peers.

In 2018, Romi earned the title of Miss Pahrump, an honor that marked a significant milestone in her high school years. Winning the pageant gave her a unique opportunity to connect with the Pahrump community and represent her town with pride. “Being Miss Pahrump taught me the value of representation and community involvement,” Romi reflects. This role allowed her to refine her public speaking skills, build confidence, and develop a sense of civic responsibility that she carries with her to this day. By her senior year, Romi had added dance to her list of activities, joining the school’s dance team. Her multifaceted involvement made her a well-rounded leader at PVHS, leaving a lasting impression on her classmates and teachers.

After graduating from PVHS, Romi’s journey continued at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), where she pursued a bachelor’s degree in business. Driven by a clear vision of her future, she also secured her real estate license while still a college student. This early career move provided her with valuable, hands-on experience and set her on the path to professional success. Romi graduated in December 2022 and, by April of that year, had already earned her broker-salesperson license, underscoring her dedication and work ethic. However, this path was not without its challenges; Romi faced the demanding task of mastering a new language requirement in a compressed timeframe to meet her graduation standards. The experience tested her resilience, but her commitment to her career goals and her strong work ethic saw her through.

The decision to pursue a career in real estate was a natural one for Romi, who had long been inspired by her aunt Marilyn, a seasoned real estate broker in Pahrump. Growing up, Romi had the opportunity to work alongside her aunt, learning the ins and outs of the industry. “My aunt taught me valuable lessons and gave me hands-on experience that shaped my career path,” Romi shares. Watching her aunt successfully navigate the complexities of the real estate market fueled Romi’s own desire to help clients make significant life decisions. This early exposure instilled in her a passion for real estate and a commitment to excellence, qualities that continue to define her career.

Today, Romi works as a real estate agent with Windermere Excellence and as a Farmers Insurance agent, serving clients across Pahrump and Las Vegas. Her dual expertise allows her to provide comprehensive services to her clients, offering both real estate and insurance solutions. “Real estate and insurance go hand-in-hand,” she notes. “Being able to offer both services helps me meet my clients’ needs in a more holistic way.” This added skill set has set her apart in the competitive real estate market, and her understanding of various market landscapes—gained from working in Reno, Pahrump, and Las Vegas—has broadened her client reach and deepened her market knowledge.

Romi’s professional achievements are substantial for someone her age. Along with her real estate and insurance licenses, she has secured licensing in life, property, casualty, and health insurance, making her a versatile agent able to meet a wide range of client needs. Her expanding expertise and her drive to excel have helped her build a solid reputation in her industry. Her work ethic, rooted in the discipline she cultivated at PVHS, continues to shape her approach to business. “Managing transactions, meeting clients, building out marketing strategies, and keeping a positive attitude takes discipline and a serious work ethic, both of which I picked up early on,” Romi emphasizes. These qualities have been crucial to her ability to navigate the challenges of real estate and insurance—industries that require adaptability, patience, and an unwavering commitment to client satisfaction.

Despite her busy career, Romi remains connected to her high school and the Pahrump community. She mentors young women who aspire to become Miss Pahrump, offering them advice and encouragement as they prepare for the pageant. This mentorship role allows her to give back to PVHS and the community that supported her during her own high school years. Social media has also helped her stay connected with high school friends and the larger Pahrump network, where she actively maintains both personal and professional relationships. Her involvement with the Women’s Council of Realtors and her frequent attendance at business events in Southern Nevada further demonstrate her commitment to both professional growth and community engagement.

In her personal life, Romi enjoys a balanced mix of work and leisure. She co-parents a cat named Mango with her best friend Brianna and is an enthusiastic karaoke fan and baker. Her free time is spent exploring new restaurants, traveling, and creating memories with family and friends. Although her work is a significant part of her life, Romi makes a conscious effort to spend quality time with her loved ones, ensuring a healthy balance between her professional ambitions and personal interests.

Looking ahead, Romi’s goals are ambitious and inspiring. She dreams of one day opening her own real estate brokerage, where she can support other agents and continue her commitment to client satisfaction. “My goal is to build a business that reflects my values—integrity, commitment, and empathy for my clients,” she says. The upcoming year, 2025, excites her as a new chapter filled with potential for growth and achievement.

Romi Carreon’s journey is a powerful reminder of the impact of community support, mentorship, and dedication. Her commitment to serving her clients and supporting her hometown reflects her love for Pahrump and her desire to give back to the place that shaped her. “Building my career in Pahrump has been an incredibly rewarding experience,” Romi shares, reflecting on her journey so far. As she continues to make strides in real estate and insurance, Romi Carreon is a young professional poised to make a lasting impact in her community and industry, setting a high standard for service and integrity in every step of her path forward.
