The Rosemary Clarke Middle School Sharks football team wrapped up their regular season in commanding fashion on Saturday, October 19, shutting out Round Mountain 43–0 at home in Pahrump. The victory cemented the Sharks’ undefeated record in league play and secured them the top seed heading into this Saturday’s championship game.
Quarterback Stetson Brown led the way for the Sharks, contributing in every phase of the offense with both a touchdown pass and a touchdown run. He also remained perfect on his extra-point kicks, helping to push the team’s total to 43 points.

Head Coach Andrew Norton praised the team’s performance and the sportsmanship displayed by both sides. “It was a fantastic game,” Norton said. “Round Mountain has had a tough season, but their coach is an exceptional guy. We rolled with our twos quite a bit, and after the game, both teams were smiling, taking selfies, and sharing leftover concessions. It was a really good experience.”
While the lopsided score allowed RCMS to treat the matchup as a tune-up before the championship, Norton noted that his players still came out strong and focused. “We used it as more of a practice, working on techniques,” he explained. “We were definitely hitting harder than we’ve hit in a long time, which was good to see—especially going into the next game.”

That next game will be for the league championship, when RCMS hosts Alamo at Pahrump Valley High School on Saturday, October 25, at 3 p.m. The matchup will pit the league’s No. 1 and No. 2 teams against each other, with the winner taking the top spot for the season.
Norton reflected proudly on his team’s overall success and the coaching staff’s impact. “It’s been an exceptional season, of which I take virtually zero credit,” he said. “Coach King has taken over the offense and Coach Murray the defense, and to see these middle school kids able to receive and then execute plays from the sidelines has been amazing. They’re learning football fundamentals, not just backyard football.”
The Sharks’ standout players have been key to their dominance on both sides of the ball. Norton highlighted Corday Taylor, the team’s starting running back; Stetson Brown, the poised and effective quarterback; and Bentley Heilman, a versatile tight end who excels in multiple roles. On defense, middle linebacker Ryder Edmonds has anchored the unit, consistently shutting down opposing offenses.
Still, Norton emphasized that the foundation of the Sharks’ success begins in the trenches. “Our offensive line this year is just absolutely stellar,” he said. “And our defensive line is getting penetration into their backfield. We’re winning it up front, which makes it really easy on our skill players.”
With one final game left on the schedule, the Sharks are ready to finish their season the same way they’ve played it—together, focused, and dominant. Fans are encouraged to come out and support RCMS as they chase the championship trophy this Saturday at 3 p.m. at Pahrump Valley High School.
