The Pahrump Mother’s Corner hosted its 4th Annual Community Baby Shower this past weekend, welcoming nearly 60 families for a celebration centered on community, support, and early childhood resources. Designed to uplift parents and caregivers in all stages of the parenting journey, the event combined essential services with lighthearted fun, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for attendees.
Families were invited to connect with a variety of local organizations dedicated to health, education, and family well-being. Resource partners included Prevent Child Abuse Nevada, Readers in Training, Empowered Embrace, Pahrump Pediatrics, Sunrise Foundation, Nevada Health Center, and First 5 Nevada. Each organization brought unique expertise to the event, offering families tools, guidance, and referrals to help navigate everything from prenatal care to early literacy and child development.

“The annual Community Baby Shower was started to gather local parenting resources to one spot and celebrate local families as they grow,” said Mackayla Turley, founder of Pahrump Mother’s Corner. “It means so much to me to see Pahrump Mother’s Corner host this yearly—it’s really fun seeing everyone come together and have a good time.”
Beyond the informational booths, the Community Baby Shower featured all the festive touches of a traditional baby celebration. Guests participated in baby shower games and had the chance to win prizes, while a raffle added extra excitement to the day. Free diapers and wipes, donated by Soroptimist Pahrump Valley, were distributed to attending families—practical support that made a meaningful impact for many. Snacks were available throughout the event, and children enjoyed face painting, adding a playful touch for the youngest guests.
Now in its fourth year, the Community Baby Shower has become a beloved tradition in Pahrump. Through events like this, Pahrump Mother’s Corner continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating a nurturing, connected community where parents don’t have to walk the journey alone.
