Saturday’s events began with Aurora Whitney qualifying for state in the 3200m by finishing fourth. In the men’s 400m, Benjamin DeSantiago qualified for state by finishing second, just .24 of a second shy of the school record, which he aims to break at the state meet. Deven Nixon shone brightly by winning the region in the 300m hurdles, while Antonio Veloz secured second place in the 800m. The girls’ 4×400 team triumphed by winning the region.

    Saturday:

PVHS dominated the girls’ triple jump, with Aspen McCormack winning the regional championship and sophomore Savannah Thompson finishing second. Grace Miller made history by becoming the first PVHS pole vaulter to qualify for state in many years.

The boys’ high jump saw three PVHS athletes qualify for state: Aleric Cooper and Tatum, who tied for second, and Cory O’Neal, who tied for fourth.

Paris Coleman continued her strong performance by finishing second in the girls’ discus. She was one of two PVHS athletes, alongside Ben DeSantiago, to qualify in all four of her events.
