The Pahrump Valley High School Trojans baseball team will host a youth baseball camp in February as a fundraiser for the program, offering local players the chance to develop skills while learning from high school athletes and coaches. The Child Youth Baseball Camp is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 14 and will include four skill-specific sessions held over two days in February. The Pahrump Valley High School boys wrestling team continued to build momentum early in the season as they competed at the 2025 Sierra Nevada Classic, finishing 21st out of 30 teams in a highly competitive field that included programs from Nevada, California, Idaho, Oregon, Arizona and Hawaii. Over the course of two weeks, Bella Salon brought together food donations, personal items, and monetary contributions that were converted into food purchases, resulting in a combined total of 1,150.6 pounds of support for VFW Post 10054, located at 4651 Homestead Rd, during the salon’s second annual food drive. The drive ran from December 5 through December 19, with everything delivered in the afternoon of the 19th. On Thursday, December 18, a small group of students from Pahrump Valley High School brought the spirit of the season to Mt. Charleston Elementary, delivering 250 handmade toys created by students enrolled in Mr. Nelson’s building construction classes. The third annual Shop with a Cop event took place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, bringing a morning of connection, encouragement, and holiday joy to foster children living in the Pahrump community. Organized by Tammy Engel with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office, the event paired local deputies with children for a hands-on experience designed to build trust, confidence, and lasting relationships. This year’s event included 27 deputies and 33 children from Pahrump.
