The sights, sounds and traditions of Native American culture will once again fill Petrack Park this fall as the 27th Annual Pahrump Inter-Tribal Social Powwow returns Friday through Sunday, Nov. 20-22.

Hosted in Pahrump, the three-day event invites the community and visitors alike to experience Native American dancing, music, traditional foods, handcrafted artwork and cultural demonstrations in a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates heritage while bringing people together.

Although the weekend’s ceremonial events begin in earnest on Saturday, Friday has become a favorite for many attendees looking to spend time exploring the vendor area. The opening day provides a relaxed opportunity to shop for arts, crafts, jewelry and other handmade goods, meet artisans and enjoy the atmosphere before the Grand Entry ceremonies begin on Saturday.

Admission to the powwow is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.

One of the highlights of the weekend will be the Grand Entry ceremonies, scheduled for noon on both Saturday and Sunday. The Grand Entry is a colorful and meaningful tradition in which dancers, veterans and honored participants enter the arena together to begin the day’s activities.

The weekend will also feature Gourd Dancing beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, as well as daily raffles and a Sunday 50/50 drawing.

This year’s event will honor Gold Star families while also recognizing veterans for their service and sacrifice.

Event organizers have announced the following leadership for the 2026 powwow:

    • Master of Ceremonies: Michael Reifel (San Carlos Apache)
    • Arena Director: Gene Webster (Ojibwe & Oneida)
    • Head Lady: Lizet Whitehorse (Mescalero Apache)
    • Head Man: Dean Webster (Ojibwe & Oneida)
    • Color Guard: Pee-Posh Veterans Association

Throughout the weekend, attendees will have opportunities to browse vendor booths, enjoy traditional and contemporary music, sample a variety of foods and watch dancers representing different tribes and traditions from across the region.

Organizers remind guests that no alcohol, drugs or weapons are permitted during the event.

The 27th Annual Pahrump Inter-Tribal Social Powwow will take place Nov. 20-22 at Petrack Park in Pahrump. Those seeking additional information may contact the powwow committee at 775-209-3444 or email pahrumppowwow@yahoo.com. Additional information is available at pahrumppowwow.com.
