A public rally and awareness event in support of Robert “Robby” Walsh is scheduled to take place Monday, June 1, outside the Pahrump Justice Court.
According to a media advisory issued by Parole Pathways, the event is planned for 10 a.m. and is intended to raise awareness surrounding Walsh’s case and what supporters describe as concerns regarding his sentence and continued incarceration.
Supporters state that Walsh is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole stemming from what they describe as a non-violent drug-related case involving a controlled buy conducted through a confidential informant. Advocates for Walsh argue that he was unfairly prosecuted and received what they believe to be an excessive sentence after choosing to represent himself during trial proceedings.
The rally is also being held on June 1 in recognition of Walsh’s birthday.
According to supporters, an order associated with Docket #2024-27902 has remained pending for approximately two years. Advocates claim the court previously indicated support for signing the order, but they allege the matter continues to face opposition. Supporters believe approval of the order could potentially make Walsh eligible for parole consideration.
“This is about bringing awareness to what we believe is a serious injustice,” said Jenna Hixon of Parole Pathways in the media advisory. “Robby has been incarcerated since 2013, and his supporters feel his voice has not been heard. We are asking the public and the media to take a closer look at this case.”
Organizers say the event is intended to peacefully bring attention to Walsh’s case while encouraging broader public discussion surrounding sentencing, parole eligibility and the legal process. Community members, advocates, family members and supporters are expected to gather outside the courthouse Monday morning in hopes of drawing awareness to the ongoing efforts connected to Walsh’s case.
