The Pahrump Valley High School boys’ varsity soccer team opened October with a commanding home victory and followed it with a competitive road performance, defeating The Meadows Mustangs 6–0 on Thursday, Oct. 1, before taking on the Virgin Valley Bulldogs in Mesquite on Monday, Oct. 5.
Four Trojans contributed goals in the win over The Meadows, while five players recorded assists. Pahrump combined that balanced offensive production with a shutout, giving the team a strong afternoon on both ends of the field.

Samuel Mendoza and Omar Becerra Gastelum each supplied an assist, rounding out the Trojans’ five assists on six goals. The contributions across the lineup gave Pahrump several options in its attack rather than relying on a single scorer.
The Trojans recorded 23 shots against the Mustangs. Hone led the team with five attempts, while Sanchez Veliz, Gonzalez-Gonzalez and Lorenzo Montaño each finished with three. Leonel Ceniceros and Nunez Manzo contributed two apiece. Randall Pangilinan, Mendoza, Jessie Barajas-Roman, Becerra Gastelum and Rene Gonzalez Valdez each added one.

The Trojans then traveled to Mesquite to face Virgin Valley, where the teams entered halftime tied 1–1. Pahrump scored once in each half, but the Bulldogs added three goals after the break to finish with a 4–2 win.
Nunez Manzo and Sanchez Veliz accounted for the Trojans’ goals, giving both seniors scoring contributions in each of the two October matches. Nunez Manzo finished the two-game stretch with three goals, while Sanchez Veliz totaled two.

Nunez Manzo and Gonzalez-Gonzalez each added three, while Pangilinan, Sanchez Veliz, Miguel Frias-Esparza and Gonzalez Valdez each collected two. Barajas-Roman contributed one.
Although the road match ended in a loss, Pahrump remained productive in both halves and received contributions throughout the lineup. With four different goal scorers across the two games, a six-goal shutout at home and a busy freshman goalkeeper answering the challenge in Mesquite, the Trojans have several strong performances to build on as October continues.
