The Pahrump Valley High School Trojans tennis team traveled to Las Vegas on Tuesday, September 16, to face Adelson, bringing home both a victory and a challenge. The girls’ team secured a win by forfeit, while the boys fought through close sets to capture a 10-8 victory.

For the boys, singles players led the way. Lucas Johnson and Jace Eichner each claimed two of their three matches, giving the Trojans four points. Sonny Skinner added another important singles win to keep the team in the fight. On the doubles side, Bryce Dykstra and Juan Rodriguez delivered a perfect performance, winning all three of their matches to give the Trojans three more points. Supporting those efforts, the pairs of Ethan Johnson and Nick Watson, along with Taysom Christensen and Chase Hansen, each earned a much-needed match win to seal the team’s 10-8 result.

A tough moment came when Ethan Johnson sustained an ankle injury during a hard-fought second set. He and his partner, Nick Watson, were forced to forfeit the rest of their matches. Despite the setback, the team rallied together to push through for the overall victory. Coach Michael Dela Rosa praised the players for their determination.
The Trojans will look to build on this momentum as their season continues, with both teams showing the depth and resilience to compete strongly in upcoming matches.
