The Rosemary Clarke Middle School Boys A team Sharks delivered an impressive performance in their final home game of the season on February 14th, defeating Amargosa in dominant fashion with a decisive 35-9 victory. From the opening tip-off, the Sharks displayed skill, determination, and teamwork, setting the tone for a strong finish on their home court.

The Sharks wasted no time asserting their dominance, closing out the first quarter with a commanding 11-2 lead. Armani Jenkins led the early charge with three, two-point field goals, while Landon Holzer and Immanuel Culliver each added two points. Nehemiah Jenkins contributed at the free-throw line, going 1-for-2 to cap off the quarter.

In the second quarter, Amargosa fought back with an effort to close the gap, but the Sharks continued to push forward. The team added eight more points to their tally, maintaining control with a 19-7 lead at halftime. Kristoffer Trejo made an impact with two, two-point field goals, Evan Strain added two points, and Nehemiah Jenkins scored in the final seconds of the quarter off an assist from Juan Basulto.

The Sharks kept their momentum rolling in the second half. Early in the third quarter, Armani Jenkins sank a basket from the right side to extend the lead to 21-7. Basulto followed with a three-pointer from the right wing, bringing the score to 24-9. Max Voegel then drained another three-pointer, further stretching the lead to 27-9.

The fourth quarter sealed the Sharks’ victory in dominant fashion. At 4:36, Trejo scored underneath the basket, followed moments later by Cade Castaneda, who made a steal and converted a fast-break layup. Trejo was fouled on a shot and calmly sank both free throws, making it 33-9. With just over a minute left, Armani Jenkins added one final layup to secure the 35-9 win.

Head Coach Scott Brown reflected on the team’s performance and their growth throughout the season, stating:

“Ever since the first day of practice, I told the team that it always starts with Effort, Attitude, and Passion, and if you have those things, the end result usually ends in your favor. Every game, I reiterate those words to them. They have been an amazing group, and it’s been a pleasure coaching them.”

With one more game left in the season, the Sharks will take their winning mindset on the road, looking to close out their season on a high note.
