Nye County residents are being encouraged to share their perspectives on local challenges and priorities through a new Community Needs Assessment Survey designed to help guide future investments in programs and services across the county.
The survey, coordinated by Nye County Health & Human Services through its opioid settlement initiatives, seeks direct feedback from community members about the issues they see affecting quality of life in their communities and how available funding can best be used to address those needs.
According to Charli Bruce, who coordinates opioid settlement initiatives for Nye County Health & Human Services, community input will play an important role in future planning efforts and decision-making.
Officials emphasized that participation is open to all residents—not only those who have been personally impacted by substance use. Organizers say hearing from a broad range of community members helps create a more complete picture of the county’s strengths, concerns and service gaps.
Topics covered in the survey include healthcare access, mental health services, substance use and recovery support, prevention efforts, housing stability, transportation and other community factors that influence residents’ overall well-being.
Information collected through the survey will help inform how opioid settlement funding is allocated in the future, with the goal of ensuring resources are directed toward programs and services that align with the needs and priorities identified by the community.
County representatives are encouraging residents throughout Nye County to take a few moments to complete the survey and help shape future initiatives.
As an added incentive, each completed survey will automatically serve as an entry into that month’s drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card. Winners will be selected monthly while the survey remains open.
The Community Needs Assessment Survey will remain available through July 31, 2026.

County officials noted that the more feedback received, the better equipped they will be to make informed decisions and ensure funding is invested in ways that reflect the priorities and needs of Nye County residents.
