The Living Free Art for Recovery fundraiser, held on Saturday, March 8th, was a resounding success, bringing together nearly 190 supporters for an evening of art, generosity, and community spirit. This year’s event was the first to sell out, underscoring the growing support for Living Free Health and its mission to provide addiction and mental health treatment, transitional housing, and therapeutic work programs. The Pahrump Valley High School boys’ golf team put forth a strong performance at the Club at Sunrise match on March 5, finishing just behind Boulder City in a competitive outing. The Trojans posted a team score of +81 to par, trailing the Eagles’ +78 to par in a tight contest. Dementia is a condition that affects millions of people worldwide, yet it remains widely misunderstood. Many people assume that dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are the same, the reality though, Alzheimer’s is just one of at least 36 diseases that present dementia as a symptom. Passion, launched from my own personal cognitive struggles, recall a time in my late 30s when I exhibited dementia-like symptoms due to malnutrition and other health conditions.
