The PVHS Trojans tennis teams secured a 10-8 victory against the Moapa Valley Pirates on September 5th in Moapa. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams contributed to the win, with several key performances driving the success.
Alexis Staples delivered a standout performance in girls’ singles, winning all three of her matches. The doubles team of Chanel Anthony and Chloe Sitter-Jones also won all three of their matches, while Layla Brunell and Christiana Baang added to the team’s success with a strong performance in their doubles matches.
On the boys’ side, the duo of Jace Eichner and Lucas Johnson won all three of their doubles matches, contributing significantly to the overall victory. Other doubles teams, including Legend Reigns and Chris Jacks, and Juan Rodriguez, who partnered with both Mariano Ayala and Bryce Dykstra, also earned crucial wins for the Trojans.
Mariano Ayala played an important role by stepping up to play two singles matches, filling in for Milan Vasquez, who was sidelined due to injury. His efforts helped ensure the team’s success in this competitive matchup.
With this victory, the Trojans continue to build momentum as they look ahead to the rest of the season.
