The Pahrump Valley High School Lady Trojans girls’ varsity soccer team closed out their season on Monday, October 27, with a determined performance in the Regional Quarterfinals against Moapa Valley in Moapa. Despite a strong defensive effort and multiple scoring opportunities, the Trojans fell 2–0 in a match that showcased their teamwork and unwavering focus from start to finish.

The first half was a defensive showcase, with goalkeeper Julie Briggs standing tall in the net for the Lady Trojans. She made several key saves, including a blocked penalty kick at the 30-minute mark and multiple stops on shots from close range. Offensively, the Lady Trojans kept the Pirates under pressure with shots from Natalia Vallin, Juliana Lopez, and Aubrey Williams, all narrowly denied by the Moapa keeper. The half ended scoreless, a testament to the Trojans’ disciplined play and relentless hustle.

In the second half, the intensity only grew. Julie Briggs continued to protect the goal, catching another penalty kick early in the half and stopping several more attempts at the edge of the box. Natalia Vallin led the offensive charge for the Trojans, taking several strong shots, including a penalty kick from 20 yards out that narrowly missed. As the game wore on, Moapa managed to break through late, scoring two goals—one on a shot through traffic and another off a corner header—to secure the win.

Even after falling behind, the Trojans continued to press, forcing multiple corner kicks and attacking until the final whistle.

Head Coach Amy Carlson reflected proudly on her team’s performance, emphasizing their effort and growth throughout the season. “The final game of the season was a hard-fought battle for the Pahrump Valley High School Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team. Although the scoreboard didn’t reflect the outcome we had hoped for, I am very proud of how they played, showing heart and determination from the first whistle to the last. This was a tough loss, not just because it ended our season, but more importantly, because they played exactly like they needed to; they didn’t let up at all. It was a great way to go out, leaving it all on the field.

Every player gave it their all, pushing through every challenge and responding to setbacks with even greater intensity. When they were scored on, they didn’t back down—they fought harder, showing resilience, teamwork, and true sportsmanship. While the season may have ended in a tough loss, I couldn’t be prouder of how well they played and how far they’ve come. Their growth and passion for the game are what truly define their success. This team has laid a strong foundation for the future, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.”

Though the season ended sooner than hoped, the Lady Trojans’ performance in the playoffs reflected the heart, unity, and competitive spirit that carried them all season long—a promising sign for the future of Pahrump Valley girls’ soccer.
