The Interact Club at Pahrump Valley High School is cooking up something special in the name of global health. Club President Alexis Staples announced the group will host two bake sale fundraisers at the local Farmers Market on April 5 and April 12, with all proceeds going to support Rotary International’s mission to combat disease around the world.
Rotary International, the sponsoring club for PVHS Interact, is renowned for its commitment to improving healthcare access in underserved areas. Their efforts include building temporary clinics, organizing blood donation drives, and establishing training facilities to support medical professionals. With a focus on diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and polio, Rotary works to connect doctors, patients, and governments in a unified fight against these global health threats.
Staples and her fellow Interact Club members will be baking all treats themselves in the PVHS culinary kitchen during the week leading up to the events. Shoppers at the Farmers Market can look forward to a wide selection of homemade goodies, including:
- Cake pops
- Chocolate chip cookies
- Brownies
- Chocolate-covered pretzels
- Sugar cookies
- Snickerdoodles
- Pumpkin bread
- Banana bread
- Blueberry muffins
The bake sale is more than just a chance to satisfy your sweet tooth—it’s an opportunity for the Pahrump community to support a worthy cause and help students make a real impact on a global scale.
