FD Candy celebrated another milestone in its local growth Friday, Oct. 16, welcoming more than 100 guests throughout the three-hour grand opening of its new location inside the Pahrump Nugget.
The celebration began with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m., officially marking the opening of the shop’s newest space. Guests continued stopping by through 7 p.m. to help celebrate, explore the location and see what FD Candy is bringing to the property. The evening ended with an especially sweet prize for two winners, who were each awarded free candy for a year.
Located directly across from hotel registration, the new shop gives both Pahrump residents and visitors a convenient place to stop for a treat while at the Nugget. The opening follows FD Candy’s move into its expanded headquarters near Mom’s Diner, adding another local stop for the growing business.
The Nugget location offers an “express” version of the headquarters experience, with a few additions of its own. Customers will find pastries, drip coffee and additional candy options that are not available at headquarters, giving even regular FD Candy customers something different to explore.
Those additions create options for a coffee-and-pastry stop as well as a candy purchase, broadening what customers can enjoy at the new location.
Since opening their original shop in July 2024, owners Tay and Colin have steadily expanded FD Candy’s offerings and community connections. The business began with freeze-dried candy and grew to include a variety of drinks and desserts, while activities such as its Wooden Nickel hunts and Slush Fund fundraisers helped connect the shop with local families and organizations.
Friday’s turnout brought that community connection into the newest location, with more than 100 guests taking part in the celebration over the course of the evening.
FD Candy’s Pahrump Nugget location is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering customers five days each week to stop in for familiar favorites and explore the new additions.
