The Nye County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with Walmart on Saturday, June 14, for a special fundraising event in support of the Children’s Miracle Network. Held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pahrump Walmart, the event brought law enforcement and community members together to raise money for children’s medical care, ultimately collecting $762 in donations.
Throughout the morning and early afternoon, deputies were on-site engaging with shoppers, collecting contributions, and sharing information about the cause. The atmosphere was one of goodwill and community connection as residents stopped by to offer their support and chat with officers.

Sheriff Joe McGill, who made a brief appearance at the event, emphasized the department’s commitment to community involvement, even amidst a busy schedule. “We’re just here supporting the Children’s Miracle Network, getting donations, talking to folks,” McGill said. “Walmart asked us to come down and be ready for this, so here we are. We’re gathering a lot of donations.”

The Children’s Miracle Network raises funds for children’s hospitals, helping to provide life-saving care, critical equipment, and support for families in need. With Walmart’s long-standing partnership with the organization, the local store’s invitation to the sheriff’s office added a layer of visibility and trust, encouraging more community members to give.
Events like these highlight the strong bond between local law enforcement and the community they serve, with causes like the Children’s Miracle Network bringing everyone together in a spirit of generosity and shared purpose.
