Trojans Take Second at Home, Finish Just Four Points Off Top Spot

The Pahrump Valley High School boys’ golf team delivered a strong performance on its home course Monday, April 6, finishing second overall in a competitive 3A league match at Mountain Falls Golf Club, just four points behind the top team.

In a field of 29 golfers, the Trojans placed multiple athletes near the top of the leaderboard and showed the kind of depth that kept them firmly in contention throughout the day. With such a narrow gap between first and second, the match underscored just how well Pahrump Valley competed from top to bottom.

Leading the way for the Trojans was Travis Floyd, who carded an 81 to finish 5th overall. In a competitive field, Floyd’s round stood out as one of the best of the day and gave Pahrump Valley an important early anchor in the team standings.

Close behind Floyd, Aaron Rily posted an 83 to finish 7th overall, helping maintain Pahrump Valley’s momentum. Cayden Cowley was close behind in 8th place with an 86, while Brody Myers added an 87 to finish 10th overall. With four golfers finishing in the top 10, Pahrump Valley made a strong statement on its home course.

Samson Wagner contributed a 94 to place 15th overall, and TC Hone finished 16th with a 95, rounding out a Trojan lineup that showed both consistency and depth across the scorecard.

That balance proved important in the final team standings, where Pahrump Valley finished second overall and just four points shy of first. In a match where every stroke mattered, the Trojans remained right in the mix and demonstrated how competitive they can be against the rest of the league.

Playing at Mountain Falls gave Pahrump Valley the chance to compete on familiar ground, but the team still had to execute under pressure against a solid field. The Trojans did exactly that, turning in a well-rounded performance that reflected both experience and continued growth as the season moves forward.

With a second-place finish, four golfers in the top 10 and only a four-point margin separating them from first, the Trojans have plenty to build on as league play continues.
