Nye County School District is inviting families with young children to its upcoming Kindergarten and Pre-K Round Up, taking place on Friday, May 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Charleston Elementary School, located at 1521 Idaho Street in Pahrump.

The event is open to all parents planning to enroll their child in kindergarten for the 2025–2026 school year. This includes families with children currently in Pre-K as well as those who are not yet enrolled. Parents interested in enrolling their children in Pre-K at Mt. Charleston Elementary for the upcoming school year are also encouraged to attend.

The Round Up offers a great opportunity for families to get a head start on the school year. Attendees will be able to find out which school their child is zoned for, meet school staff, complete registration paperwork, and enjoy a fun craft activity with their little one.

Staff from Mt. Charleston Elementary will be available to assist with the registration process, and health office staff will be on hand to answer any questions related to immunizations and required documentation.

Parents of children not currently enrolled in the Nye County School District should bring the following items to the event:

    • Child’s birth certificate
    • Child’s immunization records
    • Two documents showing the parent’s name and current address
    • Parent’s photo ID

The event also provides a chance to ask questions about eligibility for kindergarten and Pre-K. Kindergarten eligibility can typically be determined online, while Pre-K eligibility must be addressed individually due to varying regulations.

Online enrollment for the 2025–2026 school year opens on April 15, with links available on the Nye County School District website.

For more information, visit www.nye.k12.nv.us or contact your local school directly.
