Since launching her business in 2022, Selina Lugtu has been steadily building a name for herself through her unique creations that blend artistic expression, spirituality, and an appreciation for natural beauty. Her business, Selina’s Crystal Boutique, brings together two powerful forces—vibrant dot mandala artwork and the metaphysical energy of crystals—into one thoughtful, healing space. What started as a creative outlet has blossomed into a multifaceted artistic and spiritual venture.
Selina’s dot artwork is the heart of her boutique and something that truly sets her apart. Each piece she creates is done using a technique known as mandala dot art, inspired by sacred geometry and entirely composed of individually placed acrylic paint dots. The results are mesmerizing patterns that draw the eye and soothe the spirit. “It’s hard to describe until you see it,” she explained, referencing the vibrant and intricate designs that define her work. “I grid it out to get the spacing right, and then I kind of meditate a little and let it just flow through me. It’s really more of a channeled art.”

Selina doesn’t follow anyone else’s designs. Every mandala she creates is unique, an original work that stems from her own inspiration and intuition. Though she may loosely outline the piece with a compass and pencil, the final design is never pre-planned. “Even if I have a sketched-out pattern, it’s something that I created,” she said. “It’s not something from anybody else.”
Her journey into dot art began around 2017. At the time, Selina was drawn to working with color and started creating acrylic décor simply because it brought her joy. Her creative spark was further fueled by watching videos on YouTube and TikTok, where she stumbled upon artists who used dotting techniques to form mandala patterns. “I thought, ‘Oh, I want to try that,’” she said. And try it she did—what began as an experiment quickly evolved into a passion. “I never thought it would grow into something people would want to buy.”
Her work ranges in size, intricacy, and time investment. A larger 14×14-inch piece can take Selina about three weeks to a month to complete, depending on the complexity and the time she devotes each day. Her largest creation to date was a 22×22-inch piece that incorporated a 12-inch mirror at its center, a project that spanned over a month. On the other end of the spectrum, smaller items like Christmas ornaments or journal covers may take just two or three hours. Prices reflect the scale and time involved, ranging from $15 for small pieces to around $175 for her largest works.

While her work is deeply meditative, Selina also admits to a bit of artistic restlessness. “I have really bad ADD,” she laughed. “So I have to keep myself entertained too.” This often means bouncing between projects—switching from a large mandala to a more relaxed cluster-dotting piece, or beginning a new canvas altogether when a block arises. “If I feel stuck, I just start something else,” she said. “Starting is the easy part. It’s usually just a few dots in the center and I go from there.”
The materials she works with are as intentional as the designs. Most of her pieces are done on wood that she sands smooth and paints black to make the colors pop. She uses a large compass to ensure proper spacing and symmetry and then begins the meticulous process of dotting with acrylic paint.
Selina’s creations aren’t just decorative—they’re deeply personal, spiritual, and often serve as meaningful gifts. She’s made custom name letters for newborns, dragonflies, gnomes, and mirrors, among other items. Though she does accept custom orders, she explains that each one is guided more by intuitive expression than a precise rendering of a reference. “It’s a channel of art,” she said. “So I can’t really say it’s going to look exactly like this.”
Every piece is one of a kind, meaning that once someone purchases a creation from Selina, it is truly theirs and theirs alone. “They’re one of a kind. If somebody gets a piece of my art, that’s the only one that exists,” she emphasized.
Selina sells her work primarily at local vendor events in Pahrump and Las Vegas, and she promotes her art through social media, particularly on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. She also offers crystal sales through those same outlets, and while she’s in the process of building a website, she encourages people to reach out to her directly through social media or via email at selina@selinascrystalboutique.com.
The crystal side of her business grew from a personal love of their energy and aesthetic. “They’re just so beautiful,” she said. “And their energy assists you on your spiritual journey.” Selina explains that while crystals aren’t scientifically proven to heal, many people—including herself—use them for emotional and spiritual healing. “They hold an energy, and that energy can help you find self-love, focus, or just calm down. I use them in meditation, and I wear them depending on what kind of energy I want to align with.”

She has crystals placed throughout her home with intention, each set in a space where it can offer energetic support—like in the kitchen to inspire creativity in cooking or in the bedroom to promote rest and protection. “You don’t even have to be touching them,” she said. “Just being in their presence can help.” She also spoke about protection crystals that are helpful for empaths who tend to absorb the energies of people around them. These stones can act as energetic shields, keeping one’s emotional state grounded and balanced in public or stressful settings.
In addition to her creative work, Selina has a background in spiritual practice, having started her own spiritual business in 2019. She is a certified Karuna Reiki Master/Teacher and offers energy healing sessions and intuitive readings, though it is not something she’s advertised since relocating to Pahrump. “One of my goals for the future is to have a studio where I can offer healing sessions, classes, crystals and my artwork all in one space” she said. “Until then, if anyone is interested or if I feel intuitively drawn to someone, I will offer sessions either online or in their home. I’d love to work with anyone!”
She believes that creativity and spirituality are closely linked, and her art serves as a bridge between the two. “Accessing something creative really helps align you with a spiritual connection,” she said. It’s this connection—between the physical and the spiritual, the seen and the unseen—that drives everything Selina creates.
For anyone looking to try dot art or any creative practice for the first time, Selina encourages them to simply get started. “Watch a couple videos, gather some tools. Acrylic paint is best because it dries quickly. And then just do it. Trust the process.” She dreams of one day teaching classes to help others tap into their own creativity and spiritual alignment through art.
Whether she’s painting vibrant mandalas, choosing just the right crystal, or balancing her own energy to inspire others, Selina Lugtu is creating far more than beautiful pieces—she’s building a business full of soul.
