The Pahrump Valley High School Hope Squad is inviting the community to lace up their running shoes and come together for a meaningful cause at its upcoming Fun Run 5K fundraiser, set for Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Discovery Park.
Scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m., the event aims to bring students, families and community members together in support of the Hope Squad’s ongoing efforts to promote mental health awareness, peer support and suicide prevention on campus and throughout the community. The run offers a simple but powerful opportunity for participants of all ages and fitness levels to get involved, whether they choose to run competitively, jog with friends or enjoy a relaxed morning walk through the park.
The Hope Squad, a student-led program at Pahrump Valley High School, focuses on building a culture of kindness, connection and support among students. Members are trained to recognize signs of distress in their peers and help connect them with trusted adults and resources. Events like the Fun Run play a key role in supporting the group’s initiatives while also raising awareness about the importance of mental health conversations.
Participants who preregister for the 5K will receive a commemorative T-shirt and a goodie bag as part of their registration. The cost to participate is $30, with preregistration required by March 31 to guarantee the included items. Organizers encourage early registration to ensure participants don’t miss out.
Beyond the run itself, the event is designed to foster a sense of unity and positivity, reflecting the Hope Squad’s mission of reminding students and community members alike that they are not alone. By showing up, participants are not only supporting a student organization but also helping to strengthen a network of care and compassion in Pahrump.
With its combination of fitness, fun and purpose, the Hope Squad Fun Run 5K is shaping up to be a meaningful community event that encourages both physical activity and emotional well-being.
