The Pahrump Valley High School (PVHS) tennis teams achieved decisive victories against Chaparral High School, with both the boys’ and girls’ teams winning their matches. The boys’ team won 12-0, and the girls’ team secured a 16-2 win.
The PVHS boys’ tennis team benefited from a forfeit by Chaparral, contributing significantly to their 12-0 victory. However, when matches were played, PVHS players delivered solid performances. Milan Vasquez, Legend Reigns, Bryce Dykstra, and Lucas Johnson each won their singles matches, adding to the team’s dominant scoreline.
In doubles, the pairings of Jace Eichner with Lucas Johnson and Juan Rodriguez with Mariano Ayala also won their matchups, rounding out the boys’ team’s perfect win.
The PVHS girls’ tennis team also faced a partially forfeited match as Chaparral’s girls’ team lacked single players, granting PVHS a 9-point advantage from the start. Despite this, the PVHS girls swept their doubles matches to secure a 16-2 overall victory.
The doubles teams of Chloe Sitter-Jones and Chanel Anthony, Layla Burnell and Cristiana Baang, Milly Khandpur and Nyomi Skinner, Malynda Sheer and Isabelle Harris, and Jemi Chavez and Abby Amador all won their matches. Sara Miller and Ally Amador were the only pair unable to clinch a win, but their efforts contributed to the team’s overall strong showing.
As the team continues through the season, they aim to build on these victories and prepare for more competitive matches ahead.
